- Oversee the work carried out by contractors and the Oyster group making regular formal reports to both
owner and the captain regarding time scales, budget and the quality of finish.
- Get quotes for parts and carry out work in my specialist areas.
- Working hard to keep to a strict budget through further work to prepare the boat each morning and
evening for the next job, aiming to make the time the contractors spent onboard as focused on using
their professional skills not wasted on trying to get to the area they needed to work.
It worked we came in below budget allowing us to redistribute the budget and do further work.

Mini Transat Refit- Working for a client wanting to adapt the boat to suit sailing with his son, and still
competitively race double handed offshore. Main jobs involved;
- Designed and fitted autopilot system, designed and laminated a cradle for yard storage.
- Spliced the new rope package.
- Fitted a furling headstay
- Faired and anti-fouled below the waterline.
Delivery Amsterdam - La Ciotat, 140ft Ketch Asgard, 2400 miles
Weather routing and passage planning. Various maintenance and service jobs and during this discovered the
main boom mandrel had not been re-installed sufficiently out of refit and was coming off the outboard end,
between my rigging experience and the guys onboard we were able to continue the delivery.

Joining the Team during a refit period working towards the first of three lead up races to the main event, la
Solitaire du Figaro. A 2000 mile Solo offshore race split over 4 legs. We lived as a team traveling between stop
overs maintaining the boats under tight time constraints and repairing without workshop conditions.
RSB Rigging - Standing Rigging Rigger and small yacht specialist. - 6 months with an ongoing working relationship.
Starting with the company with small boat knowledge and going on to learn within a great working environment
of a large company. RSB owned by Steve Branagh is one only six companies part of the Southern spars Rig Pro
service group around the world, situated in STP yard in Palma de Mallorca. As part of the company I have
developed into part of the tuning, rig pulling and stepping team. Between rig pulling and stepping we are busy
with rig checks, reheading rod rigging, servicing head stays, servicing winches and furler units both hydraulic,
electric and manual.
It's a busy workplace with strict schedules to meet, along with great demands for accuracy and the highest quality
of work which is expected within the superyacht industry.
Other skills and tasks;
- ECSix both Continuous and Hybrid rigging installation and in situ replacement.
- Headstay and Backstay removal.
- Rod and wire rigging servicing, cold head polishing and seating.
- Servicing Main track and traveler cars both pencil bearings and Ball.
- Slinging for heavy awkward object removal from motor boats, davit cranes, stern and lazarette doors.
