With an Outside Broadcasting (OB) Unit substantially more advanced than any other
available in the Eastern Cape Region and immediate surrounding areas, ECLB is in a

Exhibitions, Sporting Events, Theatrical Productions, Promotional DVD’s, Corporate
Functions, Road Shows, Conferences and Seminars to name but a few, ECLB can provide
required video and related services for any event no matter how big or small.
Rendering its services throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries, the ECLB production resume includes
various national and international performing artists insofar as live big screen projections and edits are concerned, live
television broadcasts, stage and theatrical productions recorded, edited and produced on DVD, promotional DVD’s,
local and international sporting events, national, provincial and local government productions as well as television
panel discussions including on the fly live vision mixing and editing for both local and international broadcasting
corporations.
Using multiple Digital Broadcast Cameras with the latest in digital vision mixing and
editing equipment at its disposal, any production by ECLB will be the one thing proudly
shared with colleagues, family and friends while live big screen projections of concerts,
stage performances and events will provide audiences with a feel of virtually being on
stage themselves.
The ECLB Outside Broadcasting Unit is evolving on a regular basis insofar as additions to the unit and technological
advances are concerned, currently in a state of constant readiness with installed broadcast equipment as outlined
below:-
- Up to twenty one (21) Camera inputs for covering any event from every possible accessible angle;
- A thirty two (32) channel Sound Desk with twenty four (24) microphone inputs for recording and output of
sound to and from stage, podium or live camera feeds including sound noise
limiter and hum reduction/removal unit;
- Engineering Monitors, Vector Scope and Wave Form Monitor for calibration
of camera feeds to optimise picture quality, stability and normalising of
exposure levels;
- Digital Vision Mixing console with chroma key and picture-in-picture
facilities including two computer inputs for mixing visuals and overlays of
presentations during recordings and/or live broadcasts;
- Computer capabilities for recording and producing instant DVD productions, real time superimposing of

2. titles and animated logos, live editing and post production;
- Digital Hard Disc Recorder for up to ninety four (94) hours in HR or up to one hundred and fifty (150)
hours in SR of uninterrupted broadcast video signal recordings including live output to Digital Video
Tape;
- Separately installed equipment for mixing and playback of existing promotional material during recording
and/or broadcasting sessions whether on DVD or any other industry standard video file playback format;
- Twenty (20) unit Communication System with Headsets for directing and connectivity to all camera
operators, sound, stage and lighting engineers;
- 3CCD Digital Broadcast Cameras, a Jib (Crane) Camera that can be
assembled as a 4m, 6m or 8m unit, Teleprompter and Studio Lighting /
Sound form part of the production equipment with all connection and patch
panels conveniently accessible from the rear of the OB unit for ease of
connectivity and engineering purposes;
- Divided into three sections – Vision Mixing, Engineering and Sound – for
ease of operation for technical crew in a non-cluttered environment.
In addition, ECLB also has its own high resolution LED Daylight Screen(s) consisting of twenty four (24) panels each
1024mm x 1024mm in size suitable for indoor and/or outdoor use during daylight hours and/or at night regardless of
weather conditions (rain or wind). With the latest digital video processing units at its
disposal, the LED panels can be assembled to create a variety of screen(s) configurations
of different sizes and/or shapes capable of projecting different images on various screens
simultaneously to meet with the client’s requirements, while 42” LCD television screens
on supporting stands for use in designated VIP lounges, private and/or guest
entertainment areas are available for secondary video feeds.
Through its extensive network of association with various service providers in the
industry, ECLB can also assist clients in obtaining required infrastructure services for
events like the provision of stages, lighting and sound.
Digital photographic services can be provided by ECLB using only the most modern
technology in digital SLR cameras, accessories and printing equipment. With an
equipped digital photographic thermal printer (not inkjet), captured digital photographic
images can instantly be printed on-site in full colour, black & white, dual or sepia tone
with outstanding clarity and reproduction the only standard acceptable in our work.
Depending on the complexity of a production, equipment required and crew involved,
our costing and rates of charge are undoubtedly the best the industry has to offer,
extremely flexible and negotiable to accommodate the requirements and budget
constraints a client may have. Available to role players in the industry for use in their
own productions, the ECLB Outside Broadcasting Unit with equipment and/or LED
Daylight Screens are for hire subject to our main engineering crew members
accompanying the unit(s).
