When you have a vacation in mind, the first thing to plan is the destination. Some of you might be beach lovers, and for some, mountains mean much more than just a vacation destination. Well, if you belong to the latter group, talk to your travel agent about the Sikkim Tour packages that he has because being closest to the Himalayan range has peace of its own.
1. Divide your trip into four halves when you visit Sikkim:
Sikkim is a huge place, and it becomes very difficult if someone plans to visit the
whole of the place in one go. Well, if you want to visit the place properly you need
to know the place well, if not practically but at least through online research
before you decide to take a Sikkim tour package and get set for the trip. Sikkim is
worth all the fights that a group of friends might have when they get stuck in
deciding whether to go on a holiday on a beach or to the mountains. But make
sure that you choose your sub categorised destination careful. That means that
Sikkim is divided into four parts: east, west, north and south, and each of the
places has a beauty and ethnicity of their own. Each of the sides of Sikkim has a
very different feeling than the rest, and each of the sides have a couple of places
that are a must-visit. So here are the areas that each of the sides of Sikkim should
be known to you before you decide which side to go:
2. East Sikkim: Tsomgo Lake:
This is one of those places that have the most tourist attractions
throughout the year. In summers and in spring, the place looks
beautiful because of the colourful flowers and lush greenery, while
the white sheet of snow during winters is equally mesmerising. If you
have visited the place in the summer and are planning to revisit it in
winter, you will be amazed to see the difference that nature creates
in the same place. The next place in line is Nathula Pass: at an
altitude of 14,140 ft.; this place used to be a part of the old silk route
used to link India to Tibet. Not just the beautiful peaks of India
during clear days, the lofty peak of Bhutan is also visible from here.
Hanuman Tok: if you are a devotee, you should not miss out on this
place, especially if you are in East Sikkim. It is said that Hanuman had
halted in this place while he was carrying the sanjeevni for Lord
Lakshmana.
3. East Sikkim: Pelling:
If you are in Sikkim for adventures and wish to visit a small village in
the foothills, then Pelling is your place. Also, this place is a stoppage
for hundreds of people who go for trekking. Pelling is not that
developed, which is why it holds all the cultures very closely. The
place also shows a beautiful blend of Tibetian, Nepali and Bhutani
cultures. Yuksom: the place was the Kingdom capital of Sikkim and is
also one of the best trekking places in Sikkim. This place is all covered
up with some of the finest and rarest of flora that are hardly visible in
plains during spring and summer.
4. North Sikkim: Lachen, lachung:
The most visited places of Sikkim are these. Tourists always crowd
these places not just because of the natural beauty and scenic treat
but also because of the warm behaviour of the local people here.
Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim, is the connecting town for all these
places and is one of Sikkim’s most modern and developed locations.
From the rush at the MG Marg to all the rest of the sites, Gangtok
provides the tourists with a modernised view of the hill stations.
Thus, these are the few places from the list of must-visit locations of
different parts of Sikkim. Make sure you plan the trip accordingly and
choose one side at a time to visit and enjoy your stay in those
places.
