2. Non- Impact Printer :
 A Non- impact printers prints characters and graphics on a
piece of paper without striking the paper. Some of these
printers use spray ink while other use heat and pressure to
create images.
 The quality of this printing is very good. Nowadays these
printers are used the most.
 There are three main types of Non- Impact Printer are:
1. Inkjet Printer 2. Lazer printer

3.  An Inkjet printer is a computer peripheral that
produces hard copy by spraying ink onto paper. A
resolution of at least
typical inkjet printer can produce copy with a
300 dots per inch (dpi).
Inkjet Printers :
 Some inkjet printers can make full hard copies at 600
dpi or more. Many models include other devices such
as Scanner, photocopier, and dedicated fax machine
along with the printer in a single box.

4. Inkjet Printers
INKJET PRINTERS are essentially made up of:
 a print head which consists of nozzles which spray droplets of ink on to the paper to form
characters
 an ink cartridge or cartridges; either a group of cartridges for each colour (blue, yellow and
magenta) and a black cartridge or one single cartridge containing all three colour + black
 a stepper motor and belt which moves the print head assembly across the page from side
to side
 a paper feed which automatically feeds the printer with pages as they are required.

A laser printer is a type of non-impact printer that
uses a laser and electrical charge model instead
of the traditional printing of ink onto paper. Its
working is similar to photocopying machine.

7. Laser printer prints complete page at a time.
It is also known as page printer. The printing
speed is 12 to 45 page par minute. It print text
and graphics in high quality resolution. A
typical laser printer provides of 1200 DPI or
more. It does not make much noise.

8. A thermal printer is a printer that makes use of heat in
order to produce the image on paper.
Due to quality of print, speed, and technological
advances it has become increasingly popular and is
mostly used in airline, banking, entertainment, retail,
grocery, and healthcare industries.
THERMAL TECHNOLOGY:

9. Photo printer is a color printer designed to print high
quality photographs. It is also called snapshot printer.
Some photo printer print photo one or two size only.
For example, some photo printer print of 3*4 inches.

powered printer. It can be used by mobile users to
print image form notebook computer, tablet
smartphone while traveling.

type material that can be placed on different items like
envelops, packages, CDs, toys, etc. Many label printers
also print bar code.

built-in digital scale. It prints postage stamps. It allows
the users to buy and print digital postage from their
personal computer. The digital postage is called
internet postage.
