ZOMBIE (BURGER) ALERT IN ANKENY!

2. Ruuuuuuuuuun! Zombie Burger is invading the north side of Ankeny with a
third location where you and your friends can get ghoul­themed gourmet
burgers. The plan is to open no later than May. In addition, the restaurant
owners are eyeing Iowa City and Omaha for additional locations.
For now: Just stroll around CJ's Bagels until ZB opens.
99+ BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL
The people who brought us El Bait Shop, The Royal Mile and Hessen
Haus are planning to open an all­Iowa craft beer bar in the East
Village. There will be 120 Iowa beers on tap. Unfortunately, we have to wait
until late February or early March for it to open. :(
What's a beer lover to do until then? Try out the new sports bar that opened
in Urbandale.
WHAT'S UP WITH WEST DES MOINES?
Local community and business leaders are looking for ways to grow
the WDM area in order to attract more young professionals. From high­
speed Internet to creating a quality of life task force, here is what's being
proposed.

Festival lineup and Iowa's own Slipknot was nominated for two
Grammy Awards.
• What's up with that?! "Saturday Night Live" star Kenan Thompson is
coming to Ames in 2016.
• Ames beat out Iowa City as a top college town, according to
our super scientific Twitter poll* and a study done by the American
Institute for Economic Research. *There were also a few write­in
replies for Des Moines (#GoBulldogs) and Cedar
Falls (#GoPanthers).
