The document certifies that Amanda Brock completed an archaeological field school in Menorca, Spain from June 10-27, 2016. The school focused on applying GIS techniques to archaeology, including creating a topographic database, 3D modeling of structures using photogrammetry software, and building a 3D model and archaeological GIS of the Roman site of Sanisera integrating various data sources. Amanda Brock fully participated in all aspects of the program, which totaled 108 hours.

Fernando Contreras Rodrigo, Chairman of the association Sa Nitja. Gestión del Patrimonio Mediterráneo,
and adirector of the archaeological excavations at Sanisera, certifies that:
Amanda Brock has benefited fully, both in the theoretical and practical aspects of the Sanisera
Archaeological Field School held in Menorca (Spain) from June 10th to June 27th, 2016.
In the first part of the course, participants prepared a Topographic Data Base of the site using an Electronic
Total Station, in order to create a DEM (Digital Elevation Model) and archaeological maps in a CAD
drawing file. Time dedicated to this part of the program: 35%.
The second part dealt with the usage of photogrammetry to create a 3D Modeling, which is based on photos
from structures of the excavated Roman city and necropolis of Sanisera. Participants learned how to use the
software programs Photomodeler, Photoshop and CorelDraw. Time dedicated to this part of the program:
10%.
The third part combined published images of Roman architecture, photos from the Sanisera city and
necropolis that have been excavated, satellite images from Google Maps and Google Earth, and CAD
graphics, all in order to create a 3D Model of the site, using Google Sketchup 8.
Finally, in the last part of the program, students practiced their computer drawing skills, creating an
archaeological GIS platform from the applied recording system of Sanisera. Time dedicated to this part of
the program: 50%.
Total course hours: 108
