Bruce Hubbard will be the head coach of Columbus State University's new club sport tackle football team. As the assistant men's basketball coach, Hubbard is well known on campus. He hopes the new football team will generate excitement among students and the local community. In addition to Hubbard, Grant Shumate and Shandrae Moreland have also committed to coaching the team. While the long term goal is to develop the program, Hubbard acknowledged it will take time to determine if the team can become fully fledged or remain an academic club sport. The first meeting attracted 25 signups but more players are needed.
