Hook's Great American Rock Bash Presents The Rising and Local Bands
Seaside Heights, NJ (July 22, 2014)- To finish off the summer, Captain Hook’s Bar
would like to announce a special Labor Day weekend featuring The Rising and other
local supporting bands in Seaside Heights, NJ. Starting that Saturday afternoon these
bands will play live in celebration of Labor Day and to kick off September the right
way.
It is a great way to celebrate Labor Day while The Rising headlining and local
supporting bands, Ill Rendition, Humongous, Shift, Jim Beatty Band, Black Clouds, and
Ropetree take center stage. Following the show there will be an after party held featuring
local bands, Craving Strange and Instant Karma. Doors open at 12:00 pm August 30th at
Captain Hook’s Bar, 1320 Boulevard, located in Seaside Heights, NJ 08751. Bands will
begin to perform at 1:00 pm with The Rising closing the show at 7:00 pm. The after party
will be 9:30-10:30 pm.
The Rising is a Bruce Springsteen’s Tribute band and a brotherhood of friends, some
with ties that date back nearly two decades. With members Tom Vitorino, Angelo
Barbera, Owen Goldman, John Harjo, Bobby Holley, Marco Moir, and Alex Rice, came
together as friends, musicians, and brothers, to create an honest homage to arguably one
of the greatest rock n roll bands of all time. They were hailed as the triumphant return for
Springsteen and in 2003 their album garnered Grammy Award for Best Rock Album as
well as Album of the Year. From 2002 to 2003 they released three hit singles, “The
Rising”, “Lonesome Day”, and “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day”.
“I always believed that Springsteen fans are the type of men, and women, who'd stop to
help you change a tire, or aid someone in any type of distress. This great body of music
has been a cause for celebration, and at times for somber reflection, and all emotional
points in between. It has been a good companion. The Rising will take that to heart every
night we step on stage.” Tom Vitorino, The Rising’s lead vocalist.
