• Large yellow fleshed
nectarine that can be
harvested firm-ripe and
tangy or soft ripe and
sweet. Not as low chill
as Panamint, but OK
from the San Francisco
Bay Area. Showy
flowers.
5. Goldmine New Zealand 1890’s
• Goldmine Nectarine is a
popular heirloom still
regarded by many as one of
the best flavored.
Discovered in a private
garden as a chance seedling
back in the late 1800's. Red
over yellow-green skin, free
stone variety. Goldmine is
aromatic, sweet, juicy, white
fleshed fruit. Low chill
requirement so suitable for
a wide range of climates.
6. Independence
• Independence nectarine
is one of the most
flavorful varieties and
does consistently well in
taste tests. The
Independence is a rich,
tangy, sweet, yellow
freestone flesh
surrounded by skin that is
almost completely bright
red. Tree and blossom
buds are winter and frost
hardy
7. Liz;s Late
• Liz's Late Nectarine is
the highest scoring
yellow nectarine in
taste tests at Dave
Wilson Nursery.
Sprightly sweet, intense
spicy flavor. Liz's late
ripens in late August or
early September.

8. Panamint
• Panamint Nectarine is a
red-skinned yellow
freestone fruit is
aromatic with good
flavor and sweetness.
Panamint is very low
chill, will produce in
warm winter climates
like southern California.
9. Snow Queen
• Snow Queen is one of our
favorite white freestones.
Coveted by family and
staff when fruit begins to
ripen in the orchard.
Snow Queen is extremely
sweet and juicy. Self-
fruitful with a mid-June
harvest. Low chill, 250-
300 hours.
