2. INTRODUCTION
I currently intern at the House of Hope Boutique
in Warwick, Rhode Island. We are a non-profit,
socially conscious company that trains and
employs homeless women in the production of
handbags, totes, purses, and other customized
bags.
3. INTRODUCTION
The store front was non-existent when I joined
the team in January and so I was given free
range to arrange the Boutique any way I pleased.
Along with making an effortless flow about the
Boutique, I offered my youthful and stylish
opinion for creating and constructing new styles
of bags.
4. WINE GIFT BAGS
One table of
wine gift bags
nearest the
Point of Sale
and register
table.
I nailed hooks
into the wall to
hang 4 gift
bags.
I set up 2
baskets as well
as displayed 2
wine bottles
standing.
5. LITTLE GIRL’S BAGS
My boss,
Christine, found
this vintage
hutch at a local
garage sale.
HOHBoutique’s
number one
seller, the Little
Girl’s Bags, are
front and center
when you walk
in the door.
7. HOUSE OF HOPE BOUTIQUE
A semi-
panoramic view
of the entire
boutique.
Central bag
rack that holds
most of the
larger totes.
8. FRONT WINDOW DISPLAY
This was the
first part of the
store that the
consumer sees
so it was the
first project
that I finished.
A dress form,
also found at a
garage sale,
wears a leather
jacket displayed
in a side
window.
9. PROTOTYPE
My most recent
prototype that I
made out of tan
canvas, printed
canvas, and 18”
chain.
The fabrics
were all
recycled or
donated to the
House of Hope.
8 ½” X 4”
patterned flap
8” X 12” X 2”
main bag
18” chain
(bought)
