2. ADVENTURE TOURISM
Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) defines
adventure tourism as a trip that includes at least two
of the following three elements: physical activity,
natural environment and cultural immersion.
Adventure tourism is resilient, supports local
economies, attracts high value customers and
encourages sustainable practices.
3. BACKGROUND
The father of adventure travel is Leo Le Bon, co-
founder of Mountain Tours, the world's first
adventure travel company. In 1967, Le Bon and eight
travel mates made the first commercial expedition to
the Annapurna region of Nepal and founded their
travel company after returning stateside.
4. TYPES
Adventure is identified in terms of two main
categories – hard & soft adventure
Hard adventure tourism generally involves an
element of physical danger or risk, whereas soft
adventure tourism simply seeks to explore areas that
are not typical for travelers, such as visiting relatively
undeveloped destinations.
5. KAYAKING
A kayak is actually an elongated boat that is very
thin, and can accommodate one or more individuals
at the same time.
Paddles are much smaller, designed to be used on
either side of the kayak in a rotating format, allowing
you to gain momentum and maintain control in the
water.
6. RAFTING
Rafting is a very fun filled sport, often referred to as
white water rafting.
It is an extremely fun outdoor activity that occurs on
an inflatable raft, designed to handle several people
at the same time that are going down a sometimes
treacherous river.

9. RAFTING
The type of white water rafting that you do can be
divided up into six different classes, with Class 1
being the easiest, and Class 6 being the most
difficult. Your goal while you are on the raft is to
traverse areas of the water which may include
avoiding rocks, experiencing small waves, large
waves, and other natural hazards.
10. WATERFALL RAPELLING
Waterfall rappelling is an adventure activity where
you descend down a huge rock patch along with
the cascading waterfall. You do this with the help
of a rope. You are made to wear a harness, and a
belay is attached that assures your safety.

12. SKIING
In this outdoor activity, skiers are transported by
helicopter to remote slopes and then skiing is carried
out.
13. SKYDIVING
Parachuting, or skydiving, is a method of
transiting from a high point to Earth with the aid
of gravity, involving the control of speed during
the descent with the use of a parachute/s.
14. SCUBA DIVING
Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving
where the diver uses a self-contained underwater
breathing apparatus (scuba)scuba) which is completely
independent of surface supply, to breathe under
water. Scuba divers carry their own source
of breathing gas, usually compressed air
, allowing them greater independence and freedom of
movement than surface-supplied divers , and longer
underwater endurance than breaath hold divers.

16. HOT AIR BALOONING
Hot air ballooning is the activity of flying hot air
balloons. Attractive aspects of balooning include the
exceptional quiet (except when the propane burners
are firing), the lack of a feeling of movement, and the
bird's-eye view. Since the balloon moves with the
direction of the winds, the passengers feel absolutely
no wind, except for brief periods during the flight
when the balloon climbs or descends into air
currents of different direction or speed.

18. CAVING
traditionally known as spelunking in the United
States and Canada and potholing in the United
Kingdom and Ireland – is the
recreational pastime of exploring wild (generally
non-commercial) cave systems.
19. HIKING & TREKKING
Hiking is an outdoor activity of walking in beautiful
natural environments on pre-charted paths called
hiking trails. There are day hikes and overnight
hikes.
Trekking is a long journey be undertaken on foot in
areas where there are usually no means of transport
available. Trekking is not necessarily
mountaineering; it is walking for a number of days,
usually on uncharted paths, in challenging
environments which are likely to be hilly or
mountainous.
20. SNORKELLING
Snorkeling is an awesome way for everyone to
explore the blue stuff. It requires only the ability to
swim and breathe and have fun. No training is
required. One merely places the mouthpiece in the
mouth, adjusts the mask and puts the face in the
water. The fins allow your powerful leg muscles to
move effortlessly through the water.
21.
22. BUNGEE JUMPING
is an activity that involves jumping from a tall
structure while connected to a large elastic cord. The
tall structure is usually a fixed object, such as a
building, bridge or crane; but it is also possible to
jump from a movable object, such as a hot-air-
balloon or helicopter, that has the ability
to hover above the ground

24. PARAGLIDING
Paragliding is the closest humans can get to the
feeling of flying like a bird. It is a fun, safe way to
experience flight in its simplest form. You simply lay
out a wing on a hillside or mountain, inflate it over
your head like a kite, run a few steps and before you
know it you've stepped off into the sky! Once in the
air, a pilot is able to maintain and even gain altitude
using lifting air currents and thermals. Landing a
paraglider is extremely easy. A pilot simply steers it
into the landing area, and glides down for a very
gentle touch down back on to earth.

26. ZIP-LINING
consists of a pulley suspended on a cable, usually
made of stainless steel, mounted on a slope. It is
designed to enable a user propelled by gravity to
travel from the top to the bottom of the inclined
cable by holding on to, or attaching to, the freely
moving pulley
