 Project name:
(Maximizing Transportation Capacity of an aged Crude Oil Pipeline.)
 Project Description:
The project about case study concentrates on looping method which has
the purpose of splitting the flow through a parallel segment of the pipeline
between the two locations, resulting in a reduced pressure drop in that
segment of the pipeline. And drag reducer agent which can help by
reducing the frictional pressure loss, and can also reduce the pressure
drop by the reactions between the chemical agent (polymer molecules)
and the flowing oil. The presented case study is a simulation of an existing
pipeline of 180 Km length which has eight oil wells using Electric
Submersible Pumps (ESP) to raise up the oil to the surface and further to
save a well head pressure which is enough to transfer the oil produced to
the processing area. After raising the produced oil to the surface, It should
be collected in a manifold to transport it via three pipelines which lead it to
three separators which can separate the components of the flowing fluid
such as, oil, water, and gas. After that the flow moves in the heaters to get
rid of the water by evaporation. Oil accumulates in tanks then moved to
the initial pump.
