wrong.
8:00 – Get unnecessarilybigcoaton,put on unnecessaryscarf,spend10minuteshuntingdownmy
shoes
8:30 – Get my bike,walkall the waytocollege withsaidbike neveractuallyridingit
9:00 – Spend10 minuteshidingoutside of the classroom becauseshowingup ontime isfor losers,
arrive late and blame trafficeventhoughIwalkthe entire way
9:30 – Stare intothe endlessabyssof the internet,completelyentrancedbyall of itsdestructive
beauty.Worshipthe godof computers
10:00 – Fightdragonsinorder to save a beautiful maidenbutrightbefore she kissesme realise that
it’sall inmy headand spendthe next10 minuteswishingthatitcouldbe real.One day,my princess.
One day.
10:30 – Stare at the clockon the computerscreenponderingif mygrade wouldsufferif Idecidedto
leave early,orif the teacherwouldprotesttome havinga nap inthe increasinglycomfortable
wheeliechair.
11:00 – Be fullyawake andpreparedforthe restof the day,spendthe rest of the day waitingtogo
home.
My morningroutine isfairlystandard.Myalarmgoesoff everymorningat6:00 am. I turnoverto
face it, carefullygrabitwithmyright handand thenI gracefullythrow itatthe far wall,listeningtoit
shatterintopiecesasI fall back intothe sweetrelease of unconsciousness.Ataround6:30, my body
will realisethatit’stime togetup and will normallymake sure thathappenedbybetrayingme and
sendingme flyingoff the bed.Afterspendingfive minutesonthe floorwakingup,Igoover to myfar
wall withtrustytoolbox inhandandget to workfixingmyalarmclockfor the nextmorning.I should
reallyinvestinsome softwall padding.At7:00 I grab a healthyandnutritiousbreakfastcomprising
of a packetof prawncocktail crisps.Sometimescheeseandonionsif I’mfeelingdangerous. After
that I headintothe livingroomandturn to my favourite activity.WatchingYouTube.I’ll probably
start witha newvideobefore slippingbackintowatchingvideosI’vealreadyseen15and a half
2. times.I’ll wonderif maybe goingfora walkwouldhelpme wake up,butthenI’ll see anothervideo
inthe recommendedtabandforgetall aboutdoingany formsof exercise.At8 I’ll prymyself away
fromYouTube to get readyto leave forcollege.Iputon an oversizedblackcoatevenif it’sthe
middle of summerandthenaddto the damage witha large fluffyscarf.I’ll thenspend10 minutes
turningmyhouse upside down,lookingformyshoeswhichI’ll probablyfindunderthe sofaforsome
reason.I leave the house atexactly8:30. For the first10 minutesI’ll cycle butbecause Ineverdo
exercise I’llgettiredanddecide towalkthe restof the day.I normallywonderwhyIevenbringmy
bike,butam convincedthatit’snecessary.Inormallyarrive at9:10 but if by some formof miracle I
arrive on time,I’ll spend10minuteshidingoutside of the class.Everyoneexpectsme toshow up
late,I have a reputationtouphold.Irealise thatitmakesabsolutelynosense,butyoudonotknow
howfar I’ll go to keepmytitle. Thencomes myfavourite partof the morning.I stare into the endless
abyssof the internet,completelyentrancedbyall of itsdestructive beauty. There isnothingIlove
more than technology.Iwouldhappilysacrificemysoul forfree Wi-Fi.AfterI’ve done that, I’ll spend
22 minutesexactlyworshippingthe almighty godof computers.At10:00am I am magically
transportedintomedieval times,whereIsee abeautiful maidencryingoutforme in the tower,and
a mightydragonflingoverhead.Iwill valiantlyfightthe dragonwhilemylove cheersme on.After
hoursof battle,Iwill finallyslaythe beastandrescue the beautifulladyinside the castle.Justasshe
isabout to rewardme withone of hersweetkisses,aloudbell will ringandIwill be brokenfrommy
spell torealise thatisall inmy head.I’ll spendthe next10minutesyearningformylove.One day,
my princess.One day.Whenitturns10:30 I will cease mymopingandturn all myattentiontothe
time onthe bottomleftof the computerscreen.I’ll stare intentlyatit,wishingforthe time will
change.Everysecondof it I spendthinkingof mybed,whichgrowssoftereverytime Ido.WhenI’m
not thinkingof mybedI’mwonderingif the teacherwouldprotestif Ijumpeduponone of the
tablesandtook a nap onit. I decide thattheyprobablywouldanddecide nottodoit.For now at
least.Ifullywake uparound11. I feel more productive anddeterminedtogetthroughthe day.My
creativityflourishesandIcan finallythinkinfull sentences.Insteadof usingthisenergyonmywork,
I turn itto more productive things,mainlythinkingof whatI’ll dowhenIget home.Ispendthe
entire of the restof the day like this,until Ifinallyarrive home.
