Q1. Describe the Business Processes that have to take place upon new student
admission that would span departments of Admissions, Examination, Fees. How will
PeopleSoft ERP make the complex workflows simple and easy to follow?

Business Processes : Sets of activities: concrete workflows of material,
information and knowledge
One of the advantages of ERP solution (but not the only one) in this case will be
avoiding data replication.
Please add some more advantages like through Business Process Re-engineering.
Please refer to the diagrams on functional business processes in the slides and create a similar cross
functional diagram using software (like powerpoint) for this question in addition to a descriptive
answer.
Q2. In page three in the “Making it happen” sub heading we have a statement from TechSense
“No matter how large
the deal is and how good the system is, the buy-in has
to take place from all stakeholders.
”. Please elaborate on what the term “buy in” means in this case and why is it a vital for the long
term success of any ERP system implementation.
Hint: The “buy in” is a psychological thought process whereby you are mentally ready to appreciate
the idea behind implementing the new ERP system. Please support your answer with the help of the
TECHNICAL AND BEHAVORIAL APPROACHES slide #40 in ch1 by using similar approach in
your answer.
