The document discusses the narrator's research process for a nautical-themed film. They searched Google Images for "Stormy Sea" photos capturing the mystery and danger of the sea. The narrator then browsed nautical-themed websites, finding interesting nautical phrases and sayings and thinking a mystery storyline could work. Music videos and news stories of stormy seas in Wales provided atmosphere and ideas around including death or tragedy tied to the danger of lifeboat crew jobs.
1. After typing into Google
Images – Stormy Sea, I
found some most
remarkable and quite
clearly stunning
photographs/paintings.
Both pictures on the left,
capture the mystery and
danger of the sea.
I then went back to the theme ‘Nautical’ and using the Google
as my search engine I browsed through several websites. The
two I found particularly of interest was the phrases and sayings
that have a nautical origin because mainly due to the history of
the language which was first used at sea. This I could include
within my film if necessary. Secondly the Nautical
Archaeology news letters front page and cover line got me
thinking about maybe the storyline being a mystery.
Whilst researching for my storyboard I
was listening to music on You Tube, I
came across this music video. This
snapshot of the video in particular was
the style and atmosphere I wanted to
create around my nautical themed film.
2. I then typed into the search bar of Google; Stormy Seas in
Wales. Of which lots of results popped up, after flicking
through websites I found several news stories which got
me intrigued into maybe including a death or tragedy
within my film, which would link into the RNLI and the
message of how dangerous the lifeboat crewmembers jobs
are. I also found several more photographs of which I
liked due to the atmosphere created, especially the waves
crashing over the lighthouse, such as power and danger.
