My step by step guide of how to use the equipment in the drama studio
1. My step by step guide of how to use the equipment in the drama
studio
Sound
Firstmake surethat the sound desk is plugged into the 13 amp socket. Do not
turn on the power yet.
Secondly plug your speakers into the desk using two 1/4inch Jacks.
To split the sound left and right (Stereo) make sureto plug your speakers into
the desks left and rightout puts.
Plug the other end of your jack leads into this box on the wall under the
symbolfor speakers. Thesespeakers areautomatically on so you don’t need to
turn them on.
2. Next you need to plug in your sound source.
The leads you can see in this picture are attached to the sound source.
These are phono to mini jack leads. These allow you to connect an iPod or a
phone to the desk to play music.
The lead should look like this. At one end you should
have the phono lead (red and white ones) and the mini jack lead (black one).
You then need to plug the phono leads into two phono
to 1/4inch jack adapters for them to be plugged into the desk.
As you can see in this image.
3. Now you can plug in your sound sourcefor example your phone.
Now get your song ready but do not play it yet.
Now you can turn on the power sourceto the sound desk once you have
power running to the sound desk you can turn you master voumeto 0. Then
startto play your music and adjustthe channel volume level fromlow to high
so that you get the correct volume level for the sound.
Lighting
Firstyou must complete your visual checks.
If all the lights are safeand you believe they will work safely then you forst
step in to makesure that the dimmers are plugged into the 32 amp socket.
Once that is done you can turn on the dimmers.
To turn on the dimmers all you need to do is switch the trip switches fromoff
to on.
4. Next you need to turn the lighting desk on.
To do so make surethe desk is plugged in, once plugged in you will find the on
switch on the back of the desk. Simply switch it fromoff to on.
The lighting desk should be ready to be operated now.
