2. Introduction
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Design a manual robot which can separate different
colored boxes on a moving conveyer belt.
3. Rules
ROAD TO WIN
The team able to score max. no. of points by
separating the blocks to their respective color zones
in given amount of time would win.
RULES TO KEEP IN MIND
1. In qualification round, each team would be
allotted 3 mins of time to complete the task.
2. In the same round, two teams would be playing
at a time but both teams would be analyzed
separately.
3. 32 teams would be selected in the first
round, which would be competing against each
other in the knock-out round.
4. 4. In knock-out round two teams would compete
against each other. Winning team would advance
to finals and losing team would be out of
competition.
5. In finals, each team would perform individually
with a time slot of 5 mins. Team which would
rise and perform best would be declared the
winner, others would be ranked accordingly.
6. Dc motors having rating more than 12 volts
cannot be used.
7. The organizers reserve the rights to change any
or all of the above rules as they deem fit.
Change in rules, if any will be highlighted on the
website and notified to the registered teams.
8. Violation in any of the above rules will lead to
disqualification.
5. Specifications
DIMENSIONS AND FABRICATION
1. The machine should fit in a box of 250mm x
250mm x 250mm (l x b x h) at every given point
of the race. The external device used to control
the machine is not included in the size or weight
constraint.
2. The machine should not exceed 5kg of weight.
ROBOT CONTROL REQUIREMENTS
1. The machine can be controlled wirelessly or with
wires. Off board power supplies are allowed.
2. If the machine is wired, then the wire should
remain slack under all circumstances during the
competition.
6. 3. If the machine is controlled wirelessly, the
machine must have at least a 4 frequency remote
control circuit or 2 dual control circuits which
may be interchanged before the start of the
race to avoid frequencies interference with other
teams.
7. TEAM SPECIFICATIONS
1. A team may consist of a maximum of 4
participants, all from the same institute.
2. The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy
competition.
3. Any team that is not ready at the time
specified will be disqualified automatically.
4. The organizers reserve all the rights to change
any of the above rules as they deem fit.
Change in rules if any will be highlighted on the
website.
5. In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the
judges shall be treated as final and binding on
all.
8. ARENA SPECIFICATION
1. The dimensions of conveyer belt are (3000mm x
2000mm) i.e. (l x b).
2. The speed at which conveyer belt will rotate will
be 20 meters per min.
3. The dimension of collection box are (600mm x
400mm).
4. There are 5 types of cubes each of dimension
(70mm x 70mm x 70mm) And of colors
red, green, blue, yellow and white.
9. Gameplay
The game objective is to collect maximum no. of
blocks in their respective colored boxes.
The blocks would be placed on the white strips
(80mm) which are in between the colored strips on
conveyer belt. The robot has to place the blocks
into their respective colored strips so that they
fall in their respective boxes placed beneath the
conveyer belt.
Points are to be awarded only when the blocks fall
in boxes of matching color
10. Negative 1 point will be awarded each time bot
touches the white block.
Number of points = 5 x (number of white strips
crossed)
Negative 5 point for each time bot falls from
conveyer belt.
Team collecting maximum points will win.
