Connect Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard to IPAD
1. Connect Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard to IPAD
The iPad's larger screen makes typing on its on-screen virtual keyboard easier than typing on
the iPhone(mini keyboard for iPhone). However, most heavy typists will attest that typing on the
iPad will never be as fast as typing on a physical keyboard. The iPad does have Bluetooth
keyboard support, which helps increase typing speeds when writing longer documents or emails.
To connect your wireless bluetooth keyboard to ipad, steps as follows:
1. Turn on your Bluetooth keyboard and make it discoverable by other Bluetooth devices.
2. Tap the "Settings" icon on your iPad to open the Settings menu.
3. Select the "General" tab, then tap the "Bluetooth" option.
4. Press the "Off" button under the Bluetooth heading to turn on the iPad's Bluetooth radio. The
iPad will now search for and list devices it can connect with.
5. Tap the name of your Bluetooth keyboard when it shows up on your iPad. A PIN number will
be shown on the iPad. Type this number on your Bluetooth keyboard and press "Enter." The iPad
and keyboard will now be paired.
6. Open an iPad application you can type in, such as Notes or Pages. You should be able to type
with the Bluetooth keyboard.
2. Thing you can do only with an external wireless bluetooth keyboard:
You might think that since the soft keyboard on the iPad is almost as big as a real keyboard, you
would not need an external keyboard. You would be right.
If you use an external keyboard, however, you will be able to do a few things that you cannot do
on the onscreen keyboard.
1. You can cut, copy, and paste quickly with Command + X, C, and V.
2. You can select text instantly using Shift + the cursor control keys.
3. You can go to the beginning or end of the line with Command + left or right arrow keys.
4. You can do the same thing to get to the top or bottom of a document using the up and down
arrow keys. In fact, you can use the cursor control keys just a you would on a normal computer.
Including Shift, Command, and Option combinations.
5. You can adjust the brightness of the screen with the F2 and F3 keys – no need to go into
Settings.
6. You can easily control the volume and mute the iPad using the volume control keys on the
keypad.
7. You can control the iPod (play, pause, skip, reverse, volume) directly from the physical
keyboard without leaving the app you are working/playing with right now.
