• Explain the e-learning principles your lesson includes and how they promote critical thinking skills.
The uses of e-learning principles are as follow:
Personalization principle: I used the word “You” and integrated audio for the student to identify with me.
Segmentation principle: Was used through the storyboard as well on the slide #9 were there is three videos that shows how to do dialogic reading.
Mulitmedia principle: There are videos and links where the students will look at. There is audio as a welcome massage and picture through the storuboard.
Contiguity principle: There are text close to the picture because according to Clark and Mayer "When words and pictures are integrated, people can hold them together in their working memories and therefore make meaningful connections between them." (Clark & Mayer)
Practice principle: Work examples are an effective instructional method to assist the student. By providing information by using step-by-step instructions to help the learner better understand the material that is being taught. In the storyboard there is videos that show the student how to apply the dialogic reading process. This will give the students an idea on how to apply it themselves.
• Evaluate how you applied research-based guidelines to your lesson and how these guidelines enhance learning
Research based guidelines were applied to my lesson to enhance learning throughout the course. With the use of text, audio and visual graphics I ensure that my storyboard would be able to reach as many different learning types as possible. Based on many case studies that have been conducted as well as according to our text, students learn best when there is enough interaction to add to learning, but not so much that the learner becomes distracted.
• Describe where simulations or games might be appropriate to use to enhance learning in your lesson
Stimulation could benefit the student because it offers a way for the student to bring even more critical thinking into the making of the Wiki page. Stimulation allows the student to become creative beyond the recipe shown and add their own unique ideas to the creation of the wiki page. It also brings further collaboration and learning as they work with other people (team mates) during the learning process.

story rather than just the listener. It involves having your child in the story and allows them to expand their creative abilities.
Reading should be a fun experience for both you and your child, and I think this is a fun and different way to practice reading. Thank you
and enjoy the training.

Editor's Notes
I was able to personalize this by using the word YOU in the title. The audio will enhance instruction for the students to be able to identify with the instructor, an e-learning principle. I have used a MP3 file with the use of Audacity tool.
In this slide I was able to use pre-training principles by using the video. I have included the video for the students to have some information of what to expect through this training. According to Clay and Mayer (2011), they discuss the concept of pre-training students to introduce components of complex ideas (Clay and Mark, 2011).
This is a work example since I’m giving the students a step by step on how to complete a task. The task consist on how to get ready before dialogic reading. It gives the student a visual and a instruction. The picture is on top of the text and the text is close by the picture. This applies with the principle of graphic and text. I implemented this components because according to Clark and Mayers, illustrations used to help develop a learner’s technical skills in a certain area, by showing him or her exactly how to complete a task (Clark & Mayer, 2011). According to Clark and Mayer “on-screen words should be placed near the parts of the on-screen graphics, or contiguous in space, to which they refer” (Clark & Mayer, 2011).
Segmentation is implemented by the first step of dialogic reading introduce in this slide. Continue with personalizing by using the word you.
Continue with segmentation by breaking down the step day by day. Putting text to the graphic refers to the principle of contiguity, with this I’m trying to create a more meaningful experience according to Clay and Mayer (2011).
Using the You word for personalization, this is an effective way to reach to the e-learning students. This concept continue with the steps of dialogic reading for segmentation.
Continue with segmentation with the day by day steps. I have also integrated the multimedia principle by putting a link to a video where the student will observe an example on how to use open ended question to the children. The multimedia principle utilizes words and graphics to teach learners. "Multimedia presentations can encourage learners to engage in active learning by mentally representing the material in words and in pictures and by mentally making connections between the pictorial and verbal representations" (Clark & Mayer, 2011).
In this slide I have intergraded a multimedia principle by an example that includes videos that provides a step-by-step demonstration of the dialogic reading concept. This work example and practice example will help the students experience an actual dialogic reading process by providing in detail visually step by step practice. The students will have total control with collaboration with their team mates. Collaboration strategy enhances instruction by having the students experience critical thinking.
Through the process of the dialogic reading implementing each step in one slide I was able to break it down and put in to practice segmentation. I was also to put the word YOU and personalizing through some of the slides. On slide two I was able to put a survey and video to implement pre-training. In regards of work example I was able to apply it by displaying step by step how to use dialogic reading in an effective way.
