Elephant Adoption Certificate
Kainuk
Adoption Period: 09/07/2019 - 09/07/2028
Dear LaravelConf Taiwan ,
Congratulations on your elephant adoption. In so kindly choosing to adopt Kainuk you are
helping us provide the specialist care your orphan elephant needs to grow and thrive.
You can stay in touch with our Orphans’ Project through your exclusive access to our online
Keepers’ Diaries and monthly updates, with photographs and a location map showing
where your orphan was rescued, creating a valuable record of Kainuk’s progress. Together
with your updates I paint a collectable water colour every month for you to enjoy, print out
and keep.
We are excited to welcome you to our wild family.
Most gratefully,
Angela Sheldrick

27. We love whales
—
Coral is a mature male humpback who was born in 1988 to a whale named Silver. He has at four other
known siblings. Unfortunately, Silver died from a fishing gear entanglement in 1991. Coral is easily
identified by the rake marks on his flukes, which are thought to be scars caused by the teeth of Orcas
(killer whales) or Pseudorcas (false killer whales). Coral also has a white scar behind his blowhole
which is often covered with barnacles. In 2005, he was spotted accompanying an injured right whale.
The right whale was missing half her tail fluke, just like Silver. Coral was most recently seen in 2018
tail breaching a number of times!
