    5. Culture is a matrix of behaviors, beliefs, practices and values that typifies a particular group of people.
    6. The 5 most important interventions for specifically working with Hispanic Families.
      • During the first meeting with the family, obtain as much information about their cultural and socioeconomic background as possible.
      • Assess the nature of adjustment issues that need clinical attention.
      • Take cultural issues into consideration when discussing emotional problems or psychiatric diagnoses.
      • Be aware of your values and beliefs, attitudes and experiences with the Hispanic population.
      • Promote self-determination and decision making.
