The 5 most important interventions for specifically working with Hispanic Families. <ul><li>During the first meeting with the family, obtain as much information about their cultural and socioeconomic background as possible. </li></ul><ul><li>Assess the nature of adjustment issues that need clinical attention. </li></ul><ul><li>Take cultural issues into consideration when discussing emotional problems or psychiatric diagnoses. </li></ul><ul><li>Be aware of your values and beliefs, attitudes and experiences with the Hispanic population. </li></ul><ul><li>Promote self-determination and decision making. </li></ul>
