A.P.S Engine Piston & Liner Ltd. Co. was founded in 2012 in Organized Industial Zone and manufacturing engine pistons and engine liners for diesel and gasoline engines in a production area of 8500 m2.
In our company, 300 types of engine piston and engine liner from diameter 50 mm to 160 mm are manufactured by using latest technology latches. A strict quality control process is applied to our products in every stages of production to obtain the required quality.
TS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System is constituted and being applied to our production to supply our clients needs. By improving the Quality Management System we will meet our customers expectations easier and faster and satisfaction of them will increase from day to day. The new technologies and processes relevant to our production are being observed every time. We are also developing our staff’s consciousness and experience with our Quality Management System.

2. APS PISTON CO. QUALITY CONTROL PROCESS :
First Step: Sample piston comes to our factory..
When client and APS Piston agree price or before pricing the piston we always need a sample to learn with all
details of demand of clients. There are lots of different types of pistons in whole world and we must be clear
about dimensions of piston to give best price after learn the costs exactly. So every manufacturer needs the
samples.
- At first we calculate the dimensions of sample and we decide to manufacture if we can or not. Probably we
can manufacture %90 all types vehicle auto pistons.
- Our Company manufacturing border is 220 mm dia pistons.
- We take sample from piston to learn the chemical elements inside of it.
- We control piston hardness in our laboratory.
- After all agree to manufacture them we collect all details about pistons. We call this tangible form to
intangible piston.
- With these detailed informations we can use on Uni Graphix Program to draw and learn the piston.
- With UniGraphix we use to manuafcture piston moulds and piston.
- Our moulds are for robotic moulds,and also we have noneautomatic moulds nearly 300 pcs.
- Then we use our mould to get our first sample piston (Try casting piston). Then we return to first step to
control it and all control steps apply on our piston. This let us learn to continue manufacturing pistons on this
way on this quality,or else we change the ways or make them correct to make as same as sample piston came
to us.
- Try casting piston and sample piston compare by control unit.
- If control unit acept the try casting piston and the mould is ok to manufacture that piston we start to mass
production.
3. Second Step;
When we finish some of the pcs of total production we start to hardened the pistons in our owens.
At the end of machining process we use our vibration bathroom for cleaning the pistons and plate on them
with different type of demands.
When we have our sample piston we again compare the dimension ovality and other spesific details . We use
sample standart controls to control samples with statistics.
All controls start with eyes and continue with last tech machines.
We control all %100 pistons in these steps:
-Eye control
-Stroke Lenght measurement Control
-Pim hole dia measurement Control
- Working surface thickness measurement Control
In our machining process at the end of every step all pistons controls by our control unit.
-Plating Process-
We can plate all pistons in our facilities accept anot plate.
Laboratory
Aps Piston Company invested to laboratory nearly 4 million dollars. We have 7 different main machines
totally 16 control machines unit.
Here are the main machines we have:
1) 3D Coordiante measurement Machine:
We can see all dimension with this machine and it’s modules.Before and after machining process, we can
transfer all dimension s to Unigraphix Program.
2) Ovality Measurement Control Machine :
Mahr-MMQ 400,with this machine we can see ovalities and conicity forms of pistons. This machine bought in
Turkey by us ar first time. Noe also Federal Mougul is using ,but there is a big difference which it’s
software. Mahr Firm recreate the software for us and they did this with our control unit helps,they ll add
those spesifications to their new software.But the software is only in our hand for one year. We can see all
dimensions for controlling squareness and parallelism of of channels
3) Surface Roughness Control Machine:
We check the surface Roughnes of pistons.
4. 4) Profile Projection Machine:
We can see the channels with details if there are small metal pieces or not and we can see the dimensions of
channels.
5) Morpass Piston Measurement Machine:
Before packing the pistons we callibrate the piston dimensions and we can see if the piston is ok or not,we do
this for all pistons.
6) Spectrometer Machine:
We take section from our pistons and sample pistons to check the elements what it includes and their
percantage
7) Ultrasound Machine :
Our Ultrasound Machine to check inside of the pistons details not to brake when it’s working.
We also have microscopes,small machines,bathroom equipments etc..
