evaluation

On a whole I have enjoyed this product. The aspect i enjoyed the most was creating and
seeing my final piece, as it was he first time i have used photoshop properly and was
proud of my outcome. I enjoyed it because it allowed me to put my idea into practice and
it worked out a lot better then I thought I would. I also enjoyed coming up with concepts
that are all my own, although I do like working in groups I found that with my own work I
could be more critical as it is my own.

The concept I chose as my final piece works well as although it shows sports in a
masculine way, feel that the bubbles give it a soft nature which I feel will make the ad
more appealing to women, in turn relating to the given brief ‘create a concept that
appeals to sports men and women aged between 18 and 30. Due to the nature of the
brief I chose to actually include the product within my concept due to the fact that from
my research I had come to the conclusion that I wanted to represent the fact that Red Bull
is an energy drink and wanted to include the fact that it gives you energy. When thinking
about it I thought of different ways in which I could represent the energy aspect in a new
and original way. It is the caffeine within the drink that allows it to give out energy,
therefore technically the energy is already contained in the drink, it was then that I came
up with the concept of the bubbles each representing a small partially of energy
represented in the form of sports men and women.

I decided that if I had the time I would have made a campaign to further my development,
changing the images inside of the bubbles in different places, i.e one wold have images
of surfboards and BMX riders ect, promoting the different sports that Red Bull is
associated in, in turn hopefully promoting there work as well as encouraging the chosen
market to buy into the brand. when creating my research one of the tasks was to take a
journey showing evidence of advertisements we came across as we did so, whilst on my
journey came across 100+ advertisements in the space of 20mins, the route I took is
used on a regular basic and I had not noticed most of the advertisement's before, this
just show’s that our awareness of the things around us is not always evident. I feel that
this journey helped me to understand where and how to market, for this campaign I wold
have it placed on billboards, in sports centre’s, metros, shopping centre’s and at bus
stops and station’s. I also feel that if I have more time I would have went into grater
depth with my research, researching the rise in female sports and the rising competition
for red bull in the current market.

I found it difficult to justify my concepts and trying to put them onto paper, this could be
due having a head full of ideas and wanting to get them out before they disappear and
drawing them all out first before annotating them. I feel that next time I will annotate
them as soon as I have put them on paper so that the idea is still fresh in my mind
instead of trying to justify them all at once. For the next project I feel that I will try and
manage my time better as at times it felt as thought I had too much to do and not
enough time to do it in. I also found researching quiet difficult as I still feel that I do not
quiet understand what is expected, by this I mean everything that I should be concluded,
the amount that it sufficient and simply how I’m meant to go about setting it out.
However I feel that my understanding has progressed since the light bulb project, making
my confident that for the next task my knowledge will improve as a progress through the
year.
