Legal dna test
1. Legal DNA Test
A legal DNA test otherwise known as a court admissable DNA test is, as you may have already
guessed, required when DNA tests are required by the court of law for any legal purposes.
Some of the cases in which these tests are conducted include child custody cases and child
support cases. Apart from this, they are also used for immigration or visa applications in order
to authenticate citizenship. It has also been used greatly in estate and inheritance settlements.
The only difference between this test and a regular test is in the way the samples are drawn.
These tests are usually overseen by a neutral party appointed through the court. This is for
obvious reasons of course. The third part is tasked with the job of collecting DNA samples and
legal identification documents to ensure they are collecting samples from the right person.
They also need to establish the fact that they have witnessed the DNA being collected. The
results of such tests are admissable in any court throughout the country. It is for this reason
alone that these tests aren't cheap.
2. Most insurance companies don't cover these costs unless it is specifically mentioned in the
insurance agreement. The results are usually provided within 3 to 5 working days and samples
are sent to participants on request as well. There are many companies which offer this type of
DNA testing but it is very important for you to do sufficient research to ensure you are choosing
the right one with the highest levels of confidentiality and service.
