They would look in the symptoms the person is having and the root cause of anxiety disorder and finally, draft a plan to give relief to the patient. In general, cognitive-behavior therapy is usually used. With the help of this therapy, the patient is taught news means on how to think and act towards situations that are causing their anxiety, as well as dealing and managing with stress. The therapist gives guidance and support to the patient and at the same time, teaches coping mechanisms such as breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. There are also other means of anxiety disorder treatment which are given according to the patient’s situation and preferences. Through exercises and relaxation techniques, patients can feel improvement. People suffering from anxiety disorder are also encouraged to have interaction with other people suffering from the same condition. There are charities and patient groups which also serve as support groups to other patients.
  • Another way of anxiety disorder treatment is through counseling. It involves talking with a counselor who then helps the patient to focus on what he wants to do and have and the ways to achieve such. Counseling can help a lot in different types of anxiety disorder such as social phobia, panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Medications are combined with psychotherapy to make it more effective. As a temporary relief for short-term, stress related anxieties, tranquilizers like benzodiazepine are advised to be taken by the patient. However, these medicines should not be for long-term use since there is a big possibility that patients get addicted into it and at the same time, experience serious withdrawal symptoms. Another way of anxiety disorder treatment is with the use of Buspirone. As compared to benzodiazepins, it is not addictive. However, it has a different side-effect. On the other hand, antidepressants are used to treat social phobia, General Anxiety Disorders, and anxiety linked with depression. Beta-blockers are part of the anxiety disorder treatment which relieves the physical indicators of anxiety. It lessens shaking and palpitations. However, they are not used to resolve psychological symptoms. In some cases, patients find are able to relax more one their physical symptoms are relieved. View slide

A prescription should be secured from a physician or a pharmacist should be consulted. When a person detects any anxiety disorder symptom, it is important for him/her to go to a specialist at once. Anxiety disorders will not go away, the problem will be left unsolved until it is treated. The patient is halfway to solving the problem when he/she finds out what causes it. Regular exercise, enough sleep and good nutrition will also provide the brain and the patient’s body a chance to recharge. A positive attitude and patience are the best attributes that will the patient avoid anxiety symptoms. It will take some time to do acquire these traits and overcome one’s fear. However, when a patient lets go of his worries, it will give more room for fun and happiness. View slide
