- It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this prestigious session on Indian Journal of Ophthalmology IJO is entering into its 60th year of existence and the much awaited Diamond Jubilee Celebrations are already in the offing . The forthcoming AIOC at Agra from 6th Feb to 9th Feb has been rightly We have the AIOS-IJO Diamond jubilee Conference. We have organized many excellent scientific and other events in connection with our diamond JUbilee celebrations. Participation of many eminent International faculties have already been ensured . On behalf of AIOS and IJO let extend a cordial invitation to attend these grand gala celebrations at our Agra Conference A special stamp is being released to commemorate this great occasion. For this symposium today we have with us eminent faculties including our editor editor of IJO the young enterprising and energetic Dr Natarajan who along with past eminent editors like Dr Nayak, Dr TPD Dr GN Rao Dr. Tony Fernadez Dr Madan Mohan has brought the Indian Journal of ophthalmology to the foremost plOur own eminent place among ophthalmology journals in the world Our own eminent faculties in this symposium are Dr Gopal Pillai editor of KJO, and past editors of KJO Dr Meena Chakrabarti. Dr Sandhya is an meminent ophthalmologist from Cochin. Let us now move on to the IJO symposium The first presentation is on “what the indian journal of Ophthalmology is today” Indian journal of Ophthalmology ,as all of us are aware, is a peer reviewed open access medical journal which is one of the top indexed ophthalmic journals in the world today.
