Local marketing 1 29-13
1. Local Marketing and SEO with Paul Wegrzyn
Today’s Topic: Doing The Actual Work
(don’t forget to record this)
2. Review of January 22nd
Last week’s webinar slides are finally up on the forum
Referrals is the name of the game! (no cold calling)
Meetup.com is a gold mine
Chamber of Commerce
Local meetup groups and council meetings
Typically you’re the only “SEO guy/gal” in the room, so you
shoot fish in a barrel.
Additional Tip: when you go to these meetups and
networking events, make sure you have some business
cards to give out with a website on it. And make sure you
have a decent looking website.
3. Today’s Topic: Doing The Actual Work
What do I actually do for my clients?
1) Keyword Research
2) On Page SEO Optimization
3) Off Page Link Building
I send the client an agreement that outlines these
elements as well as a “Scope of Work. Method. And
Timeframe, deliverables”
They sign the agreement and pay me. I sign it. We are
good to go.
4. Doing the SEO Work
1) Keyword Research
Use the google keyword tool
Low competition (Traffic Travis) – relevant amount of
searches. This is different for each industry
2) On Page SEO.
If I am not the webmaster who builds their site for them,
I will dictate the changes that need to be made
See my checklist post in the freedom fast lane forum
5. SEO Work continued
3) Off page link building
This is the part that makes your life easy.
You should be outsourcing ALL of your link building to
someone else on a monthly basis. Make sure that you
are not overspending – the goal with local marketing is
to be profiting from your business. If you charge $1,000
per month for SEO, then only pay out $100-$300 a month
for outsourcing.
Pay as little as possible to get the best results you can
Rinse and Repeat
