1.
2. I'd
like to tell you about a
remarkable man Kretsul
Oleg, who inspired me to
play sports and keep to
healthy lifestyle. Oleg
Kretsul, born on 21st May
1975, is a Russian judoist
and paraolimpic
sportsman. In 1996 he
became the Vicechampion of Europe and
participated in the
Olympic games in
Atlanta.
3. When
he was 15 he
took part it the
competition in Georgia
and became the
bronze prize-winner of
the games of pupils of
the CIS and the winner
of the youth
championship of the
country, the master of
sports. Later he took the
fifth place at the world
Championships in Cairo
in the weight category
78 kg. Three months
before the Olympics in
Atlanta in 1996 Oleg
Kretsul won the title of
Vice-champion of
Europe and became a
member of the XXVI
Olympic games.

The life of Oleg was very fortunate, at first. He succedded
in sports, married happily. But on the ninth day after the
wedding driving his own car he got into a serious car
accident. His young wife and her brother died . Oleg
with a broken face and unconscious was taken to
hospital. For about a month Oleg stayed in intensive care.
During the illness he lost 30 kilograms of weight. Powerful
organism overcame everything, but he lost his eyesight.
Well, goodbye so successfully started wrestling career...
Gym doors will be now forever closed before him. Life
lost its sense for Oleg.
5.
But his comrades helped to drive
the dark thoughts away and
supported him. His childhood friend
Vitaly Gligor shared his tragedy
and worked as Oleg’s coach and
manager. The first trip to Lithuania
in 2000 to the international
competitions proved to be a
success. Oleg in the tournament
beat all his competitors in his
category. I admire this man, he's
just a hero, in my opinion, and I
think that many people will agree
with me. Oleg Kretsul didn't give
up. I just admire the strength of will
of this man. Let's follow his example
and exercise despite all the
difficulties.
