1. Why You Should Talk to Pat Rarus about Your Marketing Strategies and Tactics
2. Website Content Management While at Millipore Corporation, I managed web content and design for the Flow Cytometry Learning Center. The challenge: Make the online learning center graphically pleasing without being overwhelming. Also, to make the copy interesting to investors without sounding too technical. 3. Trade Show Management While at Millipore. I coordinated design of the 20’x 40- foot booth for the Society of Neuroscience show in San Diego in 2007, incorporating new branding elements. The challenge: Convince neuroscience researchers that the famous, trusted products of Chemicon® were now a part of the new Millipore Bioresearch Division. The challenge was exceeded: Sales leads at the show nearly doubled from the previous year!
4. Media Relations As President/Founder of Marcom Consulting (mid-1998-early 2006), I obtained top-tier media coverage in print, broadcast and on key websites. Such visibility enhanced my clients’ businesses and contributed to larger market share and increased profits. Here is one example of many successes: For a high tech client in the Silicon Valley, I obtained high-profile marketing coverage that contributed to an 18% stock price increase within a quarter! In addition, the CEO obtained a more lucrative position because of the publicity!
5. Budget Management In my 20 years of marketing, I have overseen budgets of up to $20 million for staff, vendors, advertising, trade shows/symposia, websites, and related expenses. I have always stayed within budget – and often under budget – while achieving or exceeding revenue goals. In addition, my forecasting has typically been “right on the money.”
6. Market Intelligence As a former newspaper reporter, I have a knack for discovering vital facts about the competition. My “nose for news” is valuable for gathering high-level data that can help significantly with strategic planning.
