2. DATA
In clinical areas of nursing the collection of data is
constant, second nature to the nurse. The nurse
collects data about the patient the moment he steps
through the door of the room or the hospital setting.
3. INFORMATION
The collection of data was immediately
transformed into information. As nurses we are not
just collecting data to collect baseline information.
We are forming an impression in our minds with the
data collected. We are processing the data to
produce meaning which will further lead to the
diagnosis of the patient's conditions.
4. KNOWLEDGE
As data is collected and transformed into
information and information into knowledge, each
level increases in complexity and requires greater
application of human intellect and understanding.
To have the knowledge to make quick decisions
within any nursing setting is important. Thos
desicions will save your patient's life.
5. WISDOM
wisdom is the appropriate use of knowledge to
manage and solve human problems. Wisdom in
nursing comes with practice through experiences. A
nurse who is working in the hospital for the first time
is not as experienced as the others who have been
working there for a long time.
6. CONCLUSION
I had made this diagram because the
metastructures are like a step by step process
in which you cannot achieve the other without
completing the first step. All levels of the
nursing profession work, utilize, and evolve
from nursing informatics. This makes the
nursing process of information gathering,
interpreting, analyzing, and implementing
systematic.
