Troubleshooting Guide on how to troubleshoot login problems with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

1. Windows 8 / 8.1 Login Problems using MSA
There are times wherein when we setup our Windows 8 or 8.1 we
accidentally entered an incorrect email address (i.e instead of
example@gmail.com you entered example@gmai.com). Based on
records, there have been so many cases regarding this problem. So
what Microsoft did is that they made an ability for the users to be
able to login to the Accounts page even if customers entered the
wrong email address.
By being able to login to the Accounts page, customers will be able
to change the primary alias (Microsoft Account) to something else;
or change the primary alias to the correct one.
So what do you do to correct the wrong alias?
First thing is that you need to login to account.live.com using your
incorrect alias with the correct password.

2. Once you're able to successfully get in, go the Aliases section
Inside the Aliases section, you need to click on ADD ALIAS
Once you click on ADD ALIAS, type in the correct email
address that you intend to make the primary alias or your
primary Microsoft Account to be used for login.

3. You will then be led to this page. Make the correct email
address as the primary alias.
Once these are all executed, restarted your computer and try
logging in again. By this time you should be able to login.
*NOTE: There are instances wherein the server will take time
to update. Just give it around 15-30 minutes, 1 hour at the
most to update the primary Microsoft Account alias.
