2. THE HACKATHON
On Friday 1 May 2015, Outware Mobile held a health-themed hackathon.
80 Outwarians participated. 17 multi-disciplinary, self-formed teams created
working, usable software in just 8 hours.
Each team competed by addressing one of three Challenges presented to them
by our partners in the Health sector.
3. WHY HACK?
Hackathons are a great way to generate ideas, test new technologies, learn new
skills, get creative, collaborate and have fun! All while creating working,
usable software in a short space of time that solves a given problem.
Giving our team the time to do all of the above is one of the ways we invest in
research, innovation and developing new approaches that lead our industry.
The results of a hackathon help us do our work better, and help our partners
and clients to address new opportunities and solve real world problems.
4. WHY HEALTH?
Our vision is to make a difference through creating mobile experiences that
are intuitive, effective and engaging. The purpose of our work is to remove
barriers, save time and give people access to relevant information when and
where it’s needed.
Rapid developments in mobile technologies have shone a spotlight on the
great opportunities to make a difference in health. By partnering with
organisations that share our vision, we can ensure that the work we do starts
to addresses real issues that the Health sector is facing today.
