3. MARUTI SUZUKI XA ALPHA
The XA Alpha shares the same platform as
that of Swift. It was displayed at the Auto
Expo 2012 at New Delhi. The MPV, from
the stables of Maruti, is going to be a good
competitor in the 2013’s MPV arena. It will
be equipped with K-Series petrol and DDiS
diesel engine. The five-block grille design is
eye-catching. The exterior is sturdy and
sporty with bold bumpers, large bonnet
and bulging wheel arches. The interior of
XA Alpha is luxurious with ample of
legroom and headroom both in the front
as well as back. There are two seats
specifically crafted for kids which can be
folded to increase the baggage space. The
vehicle would be priced at Rs. 6 lakh to Rs.
7 lakh (Ex-showroom) and is expected to
be launched in India in the third quarter of
2013.
4. CHEVROLET TRAX
The Chevrolet Trax has been put forward by
Opel Mokka from Europe and Buick Encore
from North America. It was unveiled at the
Paris Motor Show 2012. The vehicle has
world class technical features. The Trax
would be available in the following engine
options - 1.4 litre turbocharged and 1.6 litre
naturally aspirated petrol engines and 1.7
litre diesel engine. All the engines will be
coupled with manual transmission except
for the 1.7 litre diesel engine that will get an
automatic transmission. The Trax resembles
Captiva a lot. The sturdy alloy wheels,
Chevrolet bowtie and the specifically
designed headlights impart an aggressive
look to this compact SUV. The interior is
spacious and can seat 5 persons. The
interior has numerous small cubby holes
that increase the utility space of this vehicle.
The Trax would be launched at the end of
this year or in the beginning of the next
year.
5. CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER
General Motors, American auto major, is
all ready to roll out its dazzling SUV - the
Trailblazer. The car is expected to hit the
Indian roads by the end of this year.
Chevrolet Trailblazer would come with a
price tag of Rs. 17 lakh to Rs. 22 lakh. The
car is expected to be equipped with two
turbo diesel engines under its hood . The
2.8 litre engine will spew a maximum
power of 147 bhp and a torque of 350 nm
whereas the 2.5 litre engine will churn out
177 bhp of peak power and a torque of
470 nm. The exterior seems to be truly
chic in every way as GM has put in loads of
effort and thought on its styling.
