Top News :
• Union Bank has entered into an agreement with M/s. Lintas Media Group for a period of two years from November 01, 2013 to October 31,
2015 for the purpose of developing, planning and implementing media strategy for the Bank.
• The agreement entered into by ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), the overseas arm of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), with two
consortiums of international banks to raise USD 2.5 billion by way of offshore borrowings to finance its acquisition of 10% participating interest in
Rovuma Area I Block in Mozambique offshore.
• Piramal Enterprises Ltd has formed a strategic alliance with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) to provide rupee debt financing to
residential projects in Indian cities .
• Ambuja Cements Ltd has informed that pursuant to a notice received from the Ministry of Environment and Forest, the mining operation at the
Company's Himachal Pradesh plants has been kept in abeyance. Ambuja Cements Ltd has informed BSE that pursuant to a notice received from
the Ministry of Environment and Forest, the mining operation at the Company's Himachal Pradesh plants has been kept in abeyance. While the
clinker production at the Company's Darlaghat plant has stopped temporarily till the abeyance is lifted, the cement production and dispatches are
unaffected with the help of available clinker inventory. Also, the Company has drawn plans to mobilize the clinker from its other plants, its
Associates and the market to ensure uninterrupted supply of cement in the market.
• CCEA clears government's 49% stake sale in Balco . The shareholders have given an approval for Rs 3026 crore for the bid of stake in Balco. Now
it is upto the government whether it sells the stake this financial year or not.
• CCEA allows Rs 3333 per tonne subsidy for raw sugar exports . he Finance Ministry will be consulted to ensure that the framework of the
subsidy complies with World Trade Organization norms. The subsidy will be paid through an escrow account
• Power Grid board approves Rs 1900cr investment . The expansion and upgradation of load despatch centres for Rs 56.18 crore was also
approved by the Board. Sub-station work for an NTPC power plant worth Rs 167.40 crore and system strengthening programme for the southern
region for Rs 243.53 crore also received the approval from the Board, the filing said.
• Department of the Treasury said that U.S. federal budget balance fell to a seasonally adjusted -10.4B, from 53.2B in the preceding month.
Analysts had expected U.S. federal budget balance to fall to -27.5B last month.
• Bank of Japan said that Japan’s Corporate Goods Price Index fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 2.4%, from 2.5% in the preceding
month. Analysts had expected Japan’s Corporate Goods Price Index to fall to 2.4% last month.
• India January CPI urban inflation @ 8.09 % Vs 9.8 % ( Expectation ) . Jan CPI Food inflation @ 9.9 % Vs 12.16 % ( MoM ) . Jan CPI rural

4. Top News :
• JP ASSOCIATE Mgt Guideline : The company is taking a slew of measures to reduce debt meaningfully. It plans to announce two more deals
on divestment in four weeks and is looking to sell two cement units and two hydro plants under phase 1. Phase 1 will also include the sale of
some land bank under JP Infratech. Mgt cannot say Q4 will be great but it will be much better than Q3. Company will bring down our debt from
present level of around Rs 58000 crore to below Rs 31000 crore by October 2015 .
• Dhanlaxmi Mgt Guideline : Company is looking at 50 percent recovery in the next quarter itself. Gross NPA will come down to about Rs 300
crore. Company is very confident of recovering.
• Network18 Mgt Guideline : By next fiscal people will have four CNBC channels CNBC-Awaaz, TV18, Gujarati and HD channel. Next year
company will have two Union Budgets; one hopefully in July-August and the other back to the cycle in February, so that should see even better
growth for channels like people . So, next year hopefully company motion picture losses will be further reduced. company is taking some
management steps there and all the good performance of broadcast will be visible to investors.
• Seamec Mgt Guideline : The company’s overseas business is witnessing better utilization of vessels. Mgt expects utilization to continue at
current levels. Company is seeing improved pricing in our overseas business . Company is focusing on reducing expenditure going ahead .
• West Coast Paper Mgt Guideline : With USD 75 million of ECB along with Rs 150 crore of domestic loans against their cash earnings, West
Coast Paper hopes to be a debt free company in the coming quarters. Q3 operating margins shows lot of confidence in the operating efficiency
of the company and going by this level, company would definitely like to maintain in the current quarter even .
• Titagarh Mgt Guideline : Company does not expect path-breaking announcements from the Interim Railway Budget, to be presented today .
The industry would definitely like to see some announcements aimed towards the growth of railway traffic. Company thinks that there’s a little
possibility of reducing passenger rail fares, but feels that Railway Minister may introduce variable passenger component.
• Gati Mgt Guideline : Ecommerce business is currently the most focused business for the company given the growth potential in this
business. The segment has grown by 128% on YoY basis to Rs 25 crore for first 6 months ending June'14. The segment is operating at EBIDTA
level of around 15% and as per management, has further scope to increase its margins. Management aims to increase the capacity to about
25000 packages per day by the end of June'14. The company has point of presence in most of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities and reach upto 10000
pin codes. The Rapid growth in E commerce is in both metros and non metros. For year ended June'14, the company has aimed a net sales of
about Rs 1500 crore with Ebidta of about Rs 125 crore and PBT of Rs 50 crore. It also aims to present its Vision 20:20 for its Ecommerce
business by the end of June'14.
• Greaves Cotton Mgt Guideline : Current quarter ( Q4FY14) not much of change in sales trend is expected as auto continue to be sluggish
with other segment improving a bit. Quarter to come Q1FY15 and Q2FY15 are expected to be positive.
