1. Orlando: The Perfect Place to Unwind
Nicknamed as the City Beautiful, Orlando is one of the most visited places in Florida and
Southern United States. Also known as the “Theme Park Capital Of The World”, it draws
millions of tourists each year. The Orlando International Airport faces heavy traffic each year
and is the 29th busiest port in the world. The city boasts of numerous tourist spots such as the
Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Orlando Resort, Seaworld, and Gatorland.
Places You Can’t Skip
There are so many fascinating spots in the city that it is easy to not be able to visit many
important historical and cultural monuments that one would not skip in his right mind.
● Walt Disney World Resort: The amusement park that brought Orlando on the world
map, it is still the biggest attraction in the city.
● Seaworld: A theme park and marine zoological park, this tourist spot opened in 1973
and has been a hit ever since. The Live Entertainment portion is especially fascinating,
with many special shows such as the Dolphin Cove and Shark Encounter.
● Universal Orlando: Owned by NBC Universals, this resort is the second largest in
Orlando after Disney World. It consists of two theme parks, namely Universal Studios
Florida and Islands of Adventure. There are many hotels in the resort as well.
How to Reach There?
Orlando is served by various modes of transportation such as roadways, railways, and airways.
The best way of reaching there is by air, with the Orlando International Airport boasting of the
best facilities and some special arrangements as well.
By Road: Orlando is unique in a way that the Orange County falls inside it and is outside
Orlando city’s jurisdiction. But both sets of authorities have worked together to develop a huge
network of roads connecting the various parts of Orlando and Orange County. Interstate 4 is
the major highway connecting Orlando to Tampa. It is one of the busiest interstate roads.
By Rail: The Orlando area has a single through railroad, called the Central Florida Rail Corridor.
Sunrail is the Central Florida Commuter rail system that is set to be active in the next few years.
By Air: There are three major airports in and around Orlando. They are
● Orlando International Airport- It is Orlando’s primary airport and the second largest
airport in Florida, just behind Miami.
● Orlando Sanford International Airport- It is located in nearby Sanford of Florida and
serves as a secondary airport in the region.
● Orlando Executive Airport- It serves executive jets, flight training schools, and general
small-aircraft aviation.
2. Orlando International Airport
This airport is the 13th busiest airport in United States and the 29th busiest in the world. It just
lags behind Miami airport as the 2nd busiest airport in Florida. The airport was originally a part
of a military facility under the US forces and started as a joint civil-military airport. Later on,
when the military facility, named McCoy AFB, closed down, it became a completely functional
commercial airport. Today the airlines provide a variety of offers to tourists visiting the place to
attract the maximum number of passengers in this increasingly competitive market. Some of
the most interesting offers include cheap flight tickets to Orlando, Florida.
Recently, maximum footfall has been obtained from the European countries, especially UK. The
ticket booking agencies there too offer a variety of discounts and special packages such as
cheap flight ticket booking from London to Orlando.
This airport has remained in the media limelight mainly due to its code being MCO, a name it
retained from the now-defunct McCoy AFB. Find out more about airport
