“Make money blogging” is a hugely searched
keyword on the Internet.
If you don’t already know, blogging is one of the most
highly pushed ways right now for making money
online.
Can you make money blogging? Absolutely; if done
correctly.
If you’re REALLY new at this whole “make money from
home online” world you might need a layman’s
explanation on this subject so I’ll quickly cover it.
First, a blog as defined by google is: A Web site on
which an individual or group of users record opinions,
information, etc. on a regular basis. In case you’re still
lost about it, you’re reading a blog right now.
But how can we turn a blog into money?
Well, the general idea in a nutshell is that 1) you blog regularly (writing about some topic that you
are highly interested in), 2) promote your blog in some way to get readers, and then 3) keep
readers faithful to your blog by writing quality and meaningful content whereupon you can then 4)
promote products to sell to said readers.
It makes sense right?
I mean who of us doesn’t listen to somebody either on television, radio or online telling us to buy
something? That’s how most of us make our purchase decisions. We go to a “review” website like
Consumer Reports or we talk to people we know or ask a friend about a product we are
considering purchasing.
Well, by running a blog, you seek to become that “friend” or trusted source for your readers.
So as a result, we see a lot of people today jumping into the “blogosphere” with hopes and dreams
of becoming rich overnight and running their own blog.
Ahh if it were only that simple.
Suffice to say that it’s not, so let’s break it down.
The first thing that every blogger should understand is that traffic does not necessarily equal
money.
All kinds of “making money online” courses teach that you can make tons of money if you drive
more traffic to your website. They say that more traffic equals more money.
Well save your money on t hose syst ems because t hat is wrong.
But let me clarify that statement. What I mean is that it’s just not as black and white as that.
2. Yes, traffic is the lifeblood of any blog. Traffic is absolutely a necessary component.
But a blog’s quality or moneymaking capacity cannot be estimated by the amount of traffic it gets.
It is common sense to assume that if you have more people reading or seeing your content that
you will probably make more sales.
But in today’s world there are so many blogs where the readership does not take any action at all,
sometimes despite the blogger’s best efforts at promoting a product or system.
You see today’s readers have become numb to certain types of promotional tactics.
We all have really. For example most of us who are frequently online have trained our eyes to
ignore pop ups, banners, and shock ads. The same is true for when we read a blog. We have
learned to shut down our attention when the “buy this” language starts coming in anything we
read.
By contrast, only a few years back you could put up a simple landing page with a free e-report with
marginal graphics, add an opt in form, drive traffic to it via google Adwords and get tons of sign
ups and conversions.
Today that simply is not the case.
The bottom line for today’s world is that driving traffic is only one part of the story which we’ll
come back to in a minute.
Let’s talk first about converting the traffic you get once it’s on your site.
Converting that traffic is a completely different thing that must be focused on first.
So in order to focus, we must understand the goal of the blog.
Here are some various goals of blogs.
• Make money f rom af f iliat e product s – links t o product s wit h premade agreement s on
prof it split s
• direct ly sell a product – just click t he buy but t on
• e-mail collect ion – t o sell a product lat er
• make money f rom ads – t hey want banner clicks
• at t ract client s – consult ing or business
So as you can probably guess, depending on its goal, a blog might get a small amount of traffic
but convert over half of that traffic to sign ups.
Another blog might get a huge amount of traffic but only convert 1% of it to purchases.
This all depends on the goal of the blog and how it’s laid out.
The great thing about Empower Network is that they have a high converting product that allows
you to take advantage of 4 of the above listed money making methods for a blog.
You can make money been an affiliate of their product, your blog directly sells their product, their
capture page allows you to collect e-mail addresses, and if you’re running a small business or
consulting practice you can attract clients using your Empower Network blog through the strength
of their SEO efforts online.
So the goal of an Empower Network blog is all 4 of those income methods.
This covers one of the main reasons I decided to join the Empower Network system. Because
assuming I drive someone on the internet to my blog, I want the best chances possible of
someone becoming a part of my team. Essentially, all the selling is done for you.
But this post is not a sales pitch for Empower Network, it is about a step by step system to make
3. money using Empower Network’s products.
So back to the subject.
Now that we have the conversion part of the blog equation covered, let’s focus back to the traffic
side of things.
The goal is to get QUALITY and TARGETED traffic to your blog so that you can make sales.
I will now break down my formula on how to build any Empower Network business.
You see the information that many “gurus” or leaders in network marketing businesses often fail to
give their new members is the most important ingredient for success not only in network marketing
but in marketing for anything.
You MUST build a loyal group of readers, followers, or fans.
But how can this be accomplished by someone new with no experience? Many network marketing
companies will tell you to make a list of your friends, family and network and start calling them to
sell them their “stuff.”
NO ONE wants to do this. It’s an old and frankly ineffective model in today’s world filled with online
shopping and news-by-the-minute.
So how can you effectively build a readership or list of followers? Well there are a variety of
methods to building a list and some are A LOT more expensive than others.
Through the pain of my own trials, money and research, I have devised a system that methodically
builds a reader base and e-mail list using a combination of social media (facebook, Pinterest) and
e-mail follow-ups designed to engage your readers and keep them interested.
And let me be clear at this point, I am not and was not a tech savvy person. You don’t need to be a
computer whiz to employ these methods. Anyone can do this if they can follow steps.
Here are t he clif f not es of what I’m t alking about
1) To build a list of f ollowers, you need an incent ive. Successful and effective marketers use a
HIGH QUALITY free e-book or e-report with relevant information that readers will value. You need
to START with that. Period. Anyone who tells you different is steering you down a path of
frustration in online marketing and putting the cart before the horse. It is no good to put up a
fancy page generating great traffic if you don’t get a visitor’s information. Experienced marketers
will tell you that an average person needs to see an offer 5 to 7 times before they will purchase, so
getting someone to visit your page is not enough. You must get their name and email. I have and
use over 20 e-reports and e-books with valuable information that lets my readers know that I care
about giving them value (because I really do).
2) A good squeeze page. When people click on your link, they need to be taken to an “opt in”
form that is not overly glitchy or screams sales. They want to see a professionally laid out form
that makes them feel comfortable in their decision to opt in to your readership. I use tested
squeeze pages like this that convert very well.
3) Good graphics – People want to know that they’re dealing with someone who’s a professional.
Having overly simple or downright shoddy looking graphics on your free offer will stop people
immediately in their tracks from opting in to your readership. I think that you can imagine which
graphics I stay away from (insert group of people in suits jumping in midair with smiles on their
faces). I use graphics that were designed by graphic artists, NOT by salespeople.
4) Good ad copy – When people see your offer they need to be engaged by what they read.
Some of the highest paid Internet marketers are those who write ads for businesses. They
specialize in making readers feel that they NEED this product or service. I include thoroughly tested
4. ad copy that has been proven to convert at high percentages.
5) Traf f ic – This is where facebook and Pinterest come in. I’ll just leave it at that. I have 2 solid
facebook lead generation methods that will align you with like-minded people
6) Good email f ollow-ups – I have a set of pre-typed emails that are not overly aggressive yet
keep your readers engaged by providing them useful information as well as well thought out
language to keep them loyal to your readership.
So my friends, the above listed components are how anyone can start and build a successful
online business in Empower Network.
By the way, I share all of the content mentioned above with everyone who joins my team in
Empower Network. Our team, “Team Inspire”is an active group of leaders with our own private
facebook group where we share tips, ideas and information with one another on a daily basis. We
have an active forum where the most simple to the most complex questions are answered.
One of the most brilliant things that Empower Network did with their compensation model was
that they financially incentivized all members to help those who they refer into the company.
They did this by tying a new member’s initial commissions to their referrer’s. So it’s in mine and
everyone in Empower Network’s best interest to help those who have just joined under us.
I hope this post has brought some value, even if just a little, to your quest for a successful online
business.
