  2. They can rise or fall – move to the left or right – disappear into the distance – divide one thing to the other – connect things – thick or thin – long or short – smooth or agitated – straight or curved. What other ways? Nature, paths, tracks, rivers, shooting stars.
  3. Expressionistic, emotionally charged, almost chaotic, imprecise
  4. Precise, controlled, mathematically rigurous, logical, rationally organized.
  5. The grid – pattern of vertical and horizontal lines – lends a sense of order out of chaos.
