2. TXISTU
The txistu is a kind of flute that became a symbol for the Basque Country. The name comes from the
general Basque word ziztu "to whistle" with pronunciation of the z. This three-hole pipe can be played with
one hand, leaving the other one free to play a percussion instrument.
The first txistu was mentioned on 1864. The txistu players are called txistularis.
3. DIENTES DE LUNA
Dientes de Luna is a rock band from Gernika. It was formed on 2008 with Aimar Cid (voices and
guitar), Unai Bilbao (guitar), Gorka Etxeberria (guitar), Lander Egia (bass), Joseba Mugartegi (drums)
and Amaiur Zugadi (voices). At first, they were only 4 but Amaiur joined the group this year. They
produce songs in Basque and in Spanish and they have got 3 albums: Más vale tarde in 2015,
Utopista in 2018 and Atmosfera in 2019. The last song they have produced is ‘Orratz Galduak’
