2. The Danube is a very long river that passes through many countries, such as Germany,
Austria and Croatia, but its delta is in Romania, in the region of Drobuja. It is a
Biosphere Reserve and it is a very touristic place in Romania. In fact, it has the third
largest biodiversity exceeded only by the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the
Galapagos Archipelago in Ecuador. Most visitors tour this beautiful reserve on ship or
kayak.

There are more than 1.200 species of plants (including white water lily), 320 species of
birds (including pelicans), 3.400 species of freshwater fauna, including 110 species of
fish, such as the sturgeon.
