I want to talk about something I’ve seen pop up a few times over the last couple of years when I’ve joined different MLM companies. And that is, when you’re going out to sponsor, how do you answer the question, when prospects ask, ‘Well, how much money do you make?’ There are a couple of different ways to answer this. I’ve heard some of the top marketers say, which I agree with, you’re not going to use numbers. You can just say, ‘Well, I’m just starting. However, people in my upline and other members I know who have been in this business for a while, are making a decent income. And some have even left their full-time jobs to do this business full time.’ So, that’s one way to generally answer the question. And the reason why you want to take that stance, why you would want to reply to them that way is because you can never make a guarantee that they’re going to do what other people are doing, or even that you’re going to do what other people are doing. You see these people who are advertising their business opportunities as, ‘You can make $1000 in X amount of time,’ and ‘You CAN and it’s guaranteed,’ etc. Nobody can guarantee that the way one individual is going to market their business is going to be exactly the same way another individual is going to market their business. How Much Money Do You Make

What you earn is going to be based on what you put into your business.
So when you’re going out and marketing, don’t use figures. Don’t blast, ‘Look how much I’m
making!’ with PayPal screenshots and such.
You don’t need to tell anybody what you’re making, because what that does is give the wrong
idea, that people out there are going to think they can make the same thing and make it really
quick.
And then if they don’t, they’re going to drop out of the business because they’re not going to
be happy if they’re not making money.
So when you’re looking to build your team, you need to target people who are in the proper
mindset of ‘I’m not just going to try this and see if I can make money with it.’ They’re going to
think, ‘I’m looking for a business that is reputable, and I’m willing to put the time and effort

into it and eventually the money to invest into it, in order to make it work for me.’
That’s my tip. If you’re marketing and blasting your PayPal and Clickbank screenshots
online, you are setting yourself up for people who are going to sign up with you who that are
automatically going to think that they’re going to do the same thing.
And that’s not going to happen, because even in duplication, if you are doing what your
sponsor’s doing, you can’t guarantee that everybody that you bring into the business is going
to do what you’re doing, which is what your upline is doing.
It’s like the old saying, ‘You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.’ You can
tell your new members every step that’s outlined and how you work it, but unless they have
the mindset to put in the effort and be patient and take the time to work the program and find
what works for them, they’re not going to make money.
So just keep that in mind in your marketing efforts. Don’t make claims that you can make this
amount of money and it’s guaranteed, because nobody can guarantee that.
The only people who can guarantee that is if you go to a company, get hired, sign off all your
time and your hours and life to this company to have a guaranteed paycheck at the end of
the week.
You have to get out of the employee mindset when you’re marketing.
And if you’re out there looking for an opportunity, you have to get your mindset out of making
money fast. The only way you can make money fast is to set up a yard sale and sell your
stuff.
Even if you go get a J.O.B., you’re going to have to wait two weeks, sometimes three weeks,
before you even get a paycheck.
But for people who are in MLM or any kind of business, don’t go out there bragging about
how much money you can make. Don’t be sticking dollar signs in front of all your ads. It’s a
turn off.
And for people who are looking for an opportunity, don’t believe the hype. The advertisers

may have made that amount of money in that amount of time, but you don’t know the behind­
the­scenes, what money did they have to invest. Did they have other people working for
them to do things for them?
So keep that in mind, especially if you’re new in a network marketing business or if you’re
looking for a new opportunity, don’t believe the hype. Do your own due diligence. Look into
the company, see how long it’s been around, talk to different people who are in the company,
and at the same time, keep an open mind that you’re going to have to work to build your
business up.
You’re going to have to work, and it’s not going to happen in a month, it’s not going to
happen in two months. It may take you six months to a year, depending on what you’re willing
to invest and how aggressive you are.
