This document describes an experiment to calculate the mass of magnesium oxide produced from burning 1 mole of magnesium. The experiment involves measuring the mass of an empty crucible and lid, then the crucible with lid and magnesium added, and finally the crucible with lid and reaction product. The correct mass of magnesium oxide produced is 40g.
