3. Hard Story
• Dylan: Yesterday evening, muggers attacked an elderly woman as she
waited for her bus.
• The muggers knocked the 72-year-old woman on the ground, leaving her
with head injuries. Her 74-year-old husband attempted to stop the
muggers, however, one of them grabbed her black handbag, containing
money and a mobile phone, and then escaped alongside two accomplices.
•
• The suspects are alleged to be three Asian males aged 15 to 21. Crimes
against the elderly are on the rise leaving them feeling scared and
vulnerable. Our crime correspondent, Katy Harrop, spoke to, Cliff Maude,
a Community Case Officer of the Victim Support and Vulnerable Witness
Service in Oldham, regarding what information and advice is available.

your local authorities.
4. Soft Story
• Dylan: Oldham’s Metrolink is nearing completion. Testing will begin
this weekend, mostly throughout out the night to prevent day time
traffic. Unfortunately, Manchester Street roundabout will be off
limits during day time testing, but only for a short time and drivers
are asked to consider an alternative route. However, other roads
and pedestrian crossings are expected to remain open.
• With the construction of the Metrolink affecting the people of
Oldham, our transport correspondent, Kieron Vanderkamp, spoke
to the local people.

• Dylan: Hopefully, all that traffic is worth it.
5. Sport Story
• Dylan: In sports news, Oldham Athletic has had a rough start to the
season. They are currently placed 16thon the table with 4 wins and 15
points. Despite Lee Johnson being the new manager, Oldham Athletic
seems to be performing similarly to last year. Author and follower of
Oldham Athletic, Carl Spiers spoke to me earlier about discussing
Oldham’s new management and start to the season.

• Dylan: On the 9th November at 3:00pm in Boundary Park, Oldham and the
Wolves will be competing in the first round of the FA cup. Last year,
Oldham was unfortunately knocked out by Everton. Let’s hope, Lee
