How did you find out? Did you get a phone call or?...AM: Yeah I got a phone call on a shoot I was doing, I screamed (laughs) and thought they were joking! I’m still chuffed to bits!C: A photoshoot? Exciting stuff! You seem to have your own very individual style! Which are you favourite shops? I noticed your coat is from Topshop!AM: If I’m honest, I hate looking the same as other people, I bought my coat a couple of years back and they’ve come back into fashion again! I was like ‘SH*T!’, my favourite shops would have to be, (thinking) Topshop, Urban Outfitters, and I love River Island at the minute! I also shop on eBay and have a browse around charity shops from time to time, my weaknesses are handbags and shoes, so if I feel like spoiling myself, I have a cheeky look on the Mulberry website, or Kurt Geiger! C: Wow! You’re more of a high street shopper then! You say you don’t like looking the same as other people which is very understandable, you have your own style and always look good, you seem very independent! Were you like this when you were growing up?AM: I was such a little bugger when I was growing up! I was always sneaking out to parties and mixing with some of the wrong crowd, as you do… but yeah I was such a wild child! I love going to parties, gigs and being with friends, I’m very sociable and fun!00C: I’m not surprised! How did you find out? From your teenage years partying and going to gigs? Is that what inspired you?AM: I’ve been singing/songwriting since I was about 12, I was bullied at school so I turned to music and wrote my feelings down, which I then used as lyrics for songs! C: Bullied? That’s awful! I think going through things such as bullying, it can help you to become a stronger person and learn a lot about yourself, was this the case for you?AM: Definitely, I learnt so much about myself and realised not to trust everyone, I only trust a few people, excluding my family so I’m very untrustworthy, but I’ve learnt not to care what other people think, because it just gets you down and makes you paranoid, and life is way too short for shit like that! C: I totally agree! Well it was a real pleasure being able to speak to you like this Alice, I hope and I’m sure all will go well for you in the future and I hope to hear you on the radio, on iTunes and on TV in the near future!AM: I should be the one thanking you! Thankyou! It really means a lot! 00C: As most of us then! Is that how you got into singing and songwriting then? From your teenage years partying and going to gigs? She saw me, and sighed with relief, she was only 10 minutes late but she was horrified at the fact she was even late! Alice is very naturally pretty, so she doesn’t wear much make-up and her hair was just a mass of purple waves, she walked over, took off her fur coat (which I now want!) and sat down, breathless she ordered a black coffee and a sandwich, so I let her catch her breath before I started with the questions! Alice is a 22 year old singer/songwriter from a small village in the Welsh Countryside, she has been working on her debut album WILDFOXX for the past year, which is going to be released in March. C: So! Alice, it’s great to finally meet you, congratulations on topping the charts with your new single! It’s amazing!AM: Thankyou! It’s so surreal, I still can’t believe it! I hear it being played on the radio sometimes, and I’m like ‘oh my god it’s me!’ C: You were also nominated as The Best Newcomer and The One to Watch for 2011! How do you feel about that?AM: I know! It’s such an honour to be nominated, I didn’t know what to say or do! I was speechless!00I was meeting lead singer of the band ‘Crystallised’ Alice Mumford in a Soho Café in the outskirts of the constantly busy Capital, as I sat sipping my coffee I watched a tall girl rush through the door, it was Alice.
