About
The focus of my research are the data management and data analysis aspects related to microbial typing and microbiological questions in general.
I've been involved in setting up online databases for EU Framework projects - http://euris.itqb.unl.pt and http://previs.itqb.unl.pt- and a online website for identification of the SCCmec type in Staphylococcus spp. - www.ccrbtyping.net. I've also implemented a website where users can compare partitions with known and well studied metrics - http://www.comparingpartitions.info.
Currently I'm interested in 'in silico' population simulations a as a way to interpret data from sequence based typing methods and the development of new algorithms w...
