Feedback on websites

1. Website evaluation
• Climate change – Royal Society is the author so clearly very authoritative;
academic and detailed level of objective information. Result of project research;
links to further documentation.
• Climate change in detail – Compassion in World Farming is the author which is
subjective because the organisation argues that factory farming is cruel and then
links that to climate change
• Global warming: news, facts, causes and effects – Live Science is a group of
objective science reporters but not as highly authoritative or as academic as Royal
Society. Site links to a set of short magazine articles rather than providing a full
overview and is aimed at a general readership or by a school audience.
• Global warming – The author is Wikipedia which can be edited by anybody so can
lack authority and needs checking against other sites. However, this article does
appear to provide a useful overview and links to academic and authoritative
sources.
