three different countries – Australia, Britain and Germany – over multiple decades. The UK Department

divorce rate – 20 percent – to be among 55 to 64 year olds in 2011. The next highest divorce rate that

Using scientific measures and surveys, the scientists were able to create graphs that plotted out human
happiness. They were able to measure the happiness of the everyday “Mr. or Mrs. Jones” at age 35, 45,
55, and so on. The researchers discovered that almost all men and women show a dip in happiness
around the ages of 40 to 42 years. In their official report, the scientists noted other studies that show
people in the United States have the lowest measures of life satisfaction between the ages of 48 and 52
years. The researchers recognized the negative effects of aging on life satisfaction in their report.
Decreased hormone production is a leading cause of decreased life satisfaction. During their
reproductive years, men and women produce hormones that regulate sexual function, reproductive
