2. DirecTV and NASO’s objective
• To continue being a leading competitor in the
ever changing television and video distribution
market.
• With increasing competition via internet
mediums such as Netflix and Hulu as well as cable
companies’ growing use of fiber-optic technology,
creating and improving a foundation in online
streaming is vital to DirecTV.
• To do this we must work with pre-existing
infrastructures and adapt to the ever changing
market through NASO.

3. Goals in developing a Knowledge Base
• Utilizing and maintaining current and up to date company policies
and procedures.
– This can be found in documents such as the DIRECTV Code of Ethics
and Business Conduct and via Supervisors through direct consultation.
– Working with pre-existing formal work processes between Broadcast
operations teams and any other affiliated operations needed for the
growth of NASO infrastructure.
• Building upon existing infrastructures and detailed
system/hardware operation owner information.
– Understanding that as a new organization we must utilize current
infrastructures and custom - tailor it to NASO’s goals.
• Implementing a centralized environment health monitoring
dashboard.
– In all areas of the workplace.

4. Developing and utilizing NASO’s
Knowledge Base
• An efficient and cost effective way of keeping information up to date is to
have a database containing all pertinent documents uploaded online.
– All NASO documents that can possibly be uploaded will be uploaded.
– Any affiliated departments that will be working with NASO will upload any
pertinent documents to the database.
• Information between NASO and its affiliates should utilize this intranet
network to establish another form of formal communication between
teams.
– Communication between teams will allow for proper documentation to be
approved and uploaded by the NASO teams to the database.
• This intranet network will also allow for data gathering and
documentation preservation.
– Lowers document requirements to only needing one paper copy as a backup
or zeroes it in due to possible data back ups.
• Current intranet network(s) will be optimized for communication and
documentation.

– Generalized health monitoring can be physically implemented as messages on
the dashboard.
– Personalized health monitoring like the generalized health monitoring can be
implemented as messages but can contain more pertinent health information
which may be obtained via surveys and employees current health situation.
– The health monitor can be used to create and contain anonymous statistical
data on current employees to be utilized by NASO and any necessary affiliates
for further improvement on the well-being of said employees.

general work environment.

communications and provide supporting technical

Broadcast Teams and Mobile Development.

– The same model from NFL Sunday Ticket can be
used for the DVR Scheduler.
