3. Goals in developing a Knowledge Base
• Utilizing and maintaining current and up to date company policies
and procedures.
– This can be found in documents such as the DIRECTV Code of Ethics
and Business Conduct and via Supervisors through direct consultation.
– Working with pre-existing formal work processes between Broadcast
operations teams and any other affiliated operations needed for the
growth of NASO infrastructure.
• Building upon existing infrastructures and detailed
system/hardware operation owner information.
– Understanding that as a new organization we must utilize current
infrastructures and custom - tailor it to NASO’s goals.

have a database containing all pertinent documents uploaded online.
– All NASO documents that can possibly be uploaded will be uploaded.
– Any affiliated departments that will be working with NASO will upload any
pertinent documents to the database.
• Information between NASO and its affiliates should utilize this intranet
network to establish another form of formal communication between
teams.
– Communication between teams will allow for proper documentation to be
approved and uploaded by the NASO teams to the database.
• This intranet network will also allow for data gathering and
documentation preservation.
– Lowers document requirements to only needing one paper copy as a backup
or zeroes it in due to possible data back ups.
