How Online Class Management
Solutions Are Better Than In-House
Applications
The market for an online class management system is
growing bigger. Everyday there are some new
technology solutions in the block; and leading
software as a service (SaaS) providers in
collaborations with related industry behemoths to
come up with even more advanced audio-visual
features and learning management system (LMS)
applications. Yet there are many organizations that
still prefer to use solutions that are developed
in-house. While such solutions are fairly effective in
managing parts of the registration and payment
management processes, they tend to lack many added features that are there in the Cloud-based class registration
software. To avail those facilities and optimize their return on investment they should ideally switch over to an online
class management system (CMS).
In-house class registration packages mostly cater to three things- registrations, payment management, and email
communications. Most of these elements are not competently managed as is done by a specially designed class
management solution. The number of emails that can be sent via the email messaging tools of the institute-owned
software is often limited. Whereas, Cloud based CMS boasts of a robust email messaging engine. One can sent
numerous invitations, confirmations, RSVPs, and newsletters using this fully automated functionality.
However, there are many more facets to the online class management than just these three aforesaid procedures. The
classes are to be promoted well to rope in maximum registrants, and this does not include only word-of mouth or printed
off-line promotion means. The CMS applications comprise of the social media connector and private community network
management facilities. Schools and other educational institutes can make use of them to reach out to a more global
audience via this social media frenzy and go in for more in-depth promotions.
Wait listing management is another critical factor in classroom management. Organizations using the in-house software
solutions often tend to overlook this aspect. Either their systems do not offer the waitlist options online, or the institutes
regulate them manually. In both cases there are chances that potential candidates may not get the opportunity to enroll
for the courses even when there are vacant seats after the commencement of classes. On availing the class registration
software, this problem is sorted out. The solutions offer a proper waitlist manager tool that maximizes attendance in
classes.
One major advantage of using the specially designed class registration and payment software is that they provide the
facilities for integrated learning management systems such as Moodle. Moodle being an open source LMS can surely be
downloaded by an institute to be used for facilitating teaching-learning, but it always helps if it can be accessed via a
connector. Third party CMS does just that. It brings along all the features of the Moodle along with some added
functionality making the entire learning process even more interesting and productive.
Besides, CMS also provides other advantages such as report generating tool, questionnaire creating facility, certification
templates, and advanced audio-visual features. All these advanced features streamline the back-end operations for
classroom management, saves time and manual labor, and curtails the overall expenditures; thus optimizing ROI for the
institutes.
