1. Animal Farm Composition -Jaffer
In the novel "Animal farm" by George Orwell, it uses allegory in the Russian
revolution, but this time George Orwell uses animals to represent the humans. To
characters in the novel takes role as the leaders of the farm. Both these character lead
the farm well. What methods did napoleon and Snowball? Who had more support from
the animal? Who was the better leader at the end?
Snowball didn’t last much on Animal farm, however the methods he came up with
lead the farm on the right track. One of Snowballs methods was the flag hosting, this
would every sunday morning. The flag would represent the freedom of the animals, the
animals chose the flag to be in green since it represents the green fields of England(Pg.
21). One of the most important methods Snowball came up with is educating the
animals. He taught the animals to read and write, most animals were taught the
alphabets, some were learning the commandments but for the animals who for the
animals who couldn’t learn either they stuck to “Four legs good, two legs bad” (Pg.24).
Another method he came up with was the animal committees. He organizes all of them
into different committees. An example it the Egg production Committee. One of his
smartest methods was simplifying the commandments to make it easy for the animals to
say, “Four legs good, two legs bad” (Pg.24). He also came up with the idea of building
the windmill so that the animals would have less labour and keep them warm in the
winter (Pg. 37). Snowball didn’t last much in animal for, although I think that the
methods he came up with were really effected which organized the farm pretty well.
Napoleon on the other hand was on a completely different track. He had a
different way in organizing a farm. Napoleon is always ready for anything, he made
plans on how to fight over humans. So one of his methods was Mr.Whymper for help,
so that he can help him with the outside world, Napoleon clearly gave him instructions
to follow so he had to listen to what Napoleon was saying (Pg.45). One of his smartest
methods was to use squealer to give all the speeches because he has perfect use of
persuasive and rhetoric language, all the animals would end up speechless because
despite his strong use of rhetoric language it would make it difficult for the animals to be
against it. The animals start to become terrified because squealer says that if they don’t
follow Napoleons rules Jones would come back. An example is when boxer says
“Napoleon is always right” (Pg 40), this clarifies the fear that boxer has about Napoleon.
Another method was also education, however he only educated the 9 puppies and all of
them grew up to be his bodyguard. (Pg.24). I think that Napoleons methods are really
2. Napoleon since he fears all of them. An example as I said before is when boxer
says “Napoleon is always right” (Pg 40).
Both Napoleon and Snowball also had different methods in organizing the farm,
they both have different reputation in getting thing done their way. Snowball had a good
start to being leader, but he was chased away by Napoleons dogs, so then Napoleons
reputation increased and had more support from the animals then they had with
snowball because the were feared by Napoleon. Both Napoleon and snowball treated
the animals completely different because of their leadership behavior. I think that
Snowball is really brave, since he bravely fought during the battle of the cowshed.
Both Napoleon and Snowball had great leadership qualities and they proved
could make animal farm a better place without humans, Snowball focused more on
educating the animals, while Napoleon on the animals following his commands. To me,
snowball was a better leader, however at the end the animals had more support to
Napoleon, they all looked up to Napoleon and were following each and everything they
say. At the end Napoleon was the once who had led animal farm to what it has turned
into now.
