WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SEXUALLY
HARASSED?
 Speak up. Tell the harasser
firmly that his behavior is
unwelcome and that you want it
to STOP.
 Record the details of when,
whereand how the incidents
happen. These can help to
establish a caseagainst the
harasser.
 The only thing you mustNOT do
is to do nothing about it.
CONCLUSION
Men and women can work hand in
hand to improve the workplace
misappropriate behavior and maintain
a work environment that is free from
harassment.
WHAT ARE THE FORMS OF SEXUAL
HARASSMENT?
 Verbal harassment : e.g.
offensivecomments.
 Non-verbal harassment : e.g.
inappropriateexpressions.
 Visual harassment : e.g. sexual
exposure.
 Psychological harassment : e.g.
relentless proposals for dates or
physicalintimacy.
 Physical harassment : e.g.
inappropriatetouching.
INTRODUCTION
As more women enter the workforce,
levels of sexual harassment appear to
have increased. According to All
Women's Action Society (AWAM)
President, Sofia Lim Siu Ching said
three out of 10 women faced sexual
harassment at work.

Code of Practice On The Prevention
and Eradication of Sexual Harassment
In The Workplace – Ministry of Human
Resources, 1999, defined workplace
harassment as any unwanted conduct
of sexual nature having the effect of
verbal, non-verbal, visual,
psychological of physical harassment.
